just saw this long post about tips for living with abusive parents (linking in case anyone following does need it because yikes) like ... how not to make noise in the house and coming up with escape plans, hiding go-bags and first-aid kits and sneaking food so you don’t starve ... and i just ... i am so shaken by the idea that kids ... any kids but especially so many kids ... grow up that way? like idk if i can focus on what i’m supposed to be focusing on after reading that. i am incredibly lucky that my childhood was idyllic enough that i just do not understand how or why that can be reality in so many families, but also ... how?? why???
Story time!
My mom and I went shopping today and just spur of the moment she said, "Let's go get manicures." Any time before today I would have asked if I could get a pedicure instead because generally when you get a manicure at some point they see your wrists. But today, I said fuck it. And I got my first manicure in 3 years. Yeah the lady noticed my scars, they're pretty prominent, and she asked about them. And I was able to say "I hurt myself." I didn't make something up. I didn't have a lame excuse. I told the truth. And this lady nodded and then yelled at her daughter in Korean. I couldn't tell if she didn't understand or if she had seen it so many times she had become desensitized to it. I really hope it was the former.
So yeah that's Skylar's story for the day.
//watching his two tortie kittens pat around and prance about
//holding back manly squeals as he lays back in his chair
//Stevie Ace ruins everything by walking across Jett's chest, stopping in the middle, turning around, and sticking his FURRY BUTT RIGHT IN THE MAN'S FACE
//pushes the dirty cat off and huffs
Dammit, Ace. I love't when you're cuddly, but I hate your ass, 'kay?
My dad's mom is always giving my mom hand-me-down clothes.
It's kind of weird...
and my grandma is under 5 foot, and my mom is 5'3"... and she just tried to give her pants...
putting this under a "read more" because i know not all of my followers will care for this.
"Blaine, Warbler practice is in fif--" Kurt stops dead in his tracks as Blaine and Everett jump away from each other as if they've been electrocuted.
There was no mistaking what Kurt saw, however.
Blaine kissing Everett. Everett kissing Blaine. The Anderson twins. Kissing.
Kurt turns on his heel, almost scurrying out of the room.
"Shit," Blaine whispers.
"Shit, indeed." Everett pauses a few seconds, a sort of smug grin on his face. "Well, aren't you going to go get him?"
"Right," Blaine hurriedly gets off the bed, chasing Kurt down the hallway. "Kurt, wait…" He calls before he catches up with him. "I need you to not freak out, okay?"
"Freaking out? Why would I be freaking out? I just walked in on you kissing your brother," Kurt hisses.
Blaine sighs. Of course Kurt would be freaking out.
"When did you plan on telling me that you and Everett spend your free time making out? Because I think that's something your boyfriend of six months should know."
Oh, so he still thinks of me of his boyfriend? Wait, snap out of it, Blaine. That is so not the point right now.
"Listen, Everett and I, we've always been close, but--"
"That's obvious," Kurt scoffs.
"Hey, will you let me finish?" Blaine tentatively takes Kurt's hand in his, relieved when Kurt doesn't jerk away. "But it doesn't mean I love you less."
Kurt doesn't say anything for a long while. "We should get to practice." Gently removing his hand from Blaine's, Kurt swallows hard and starts his walk back down the hallway. "I'll see you there."
This time, Blaine doesn't chase him.
