There is is an ELABORATE identity scam going around that starts out by a "concerned" account (probably stolen from a previous victim) DMing you about accidentally mass reporting you instead of someone that they claim "impersonated" you. They will follow this up by saying they have contacted support and to email the same admin account they did. They will insist that you do this quickly. You will "conveniently" receive a mail in response very soon that takes you to sign in to microsoft teams EVEN IF IT ISN'T REGISTERED TO THE SAME EMAIL AS YOUR TUMBLR, they explain that you need to share your screen during this and then they ask you to change the email your account is registered to and to log out. THE REAL TUMBLR SUPPORT WILL NEVER ASK YOU THIS, OR CHANGE YOUR REGISTERED EMAIL IN ANY WAY, THE ONLY OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION FROM THEM IS THE MAIL CONFIRMING THE CHANGE, YOU CAN CONTACT THEM THROUGH THE ADDRESS LISTED THERE TO REVERT THE CHANGE

once they have the registered email changed to theirs, they will demand a $200 "verification fee" that is "100% refundable" from the department of tumblr financial management, they will claim that your account will be deleted and that you will be reported to the FDIC for phishing and identity theft. RED FLAGS IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE unknown account that seems legitimate reaching out and claiming an account impersonated you and scammed them the imposter account is conveniently deleted already they insist on the urgency the person they told you to email responds instantly and wants to talk through teams they will constantly ping you with each message they ask that you turn on your screen share they ask you to change the address your account is registered to they ask for bank screenshots and ask for other payment platforms they say you are going to be reported to the FDIC and that your account will be deletd soon without completing the verification the verification has a $200 fee to the fictional "tumblr finance management"

How often would Neil be called into the bank because of his changing signature and the bank keeps halting transactions because they think it’s identity theft?

Neil: Ugh! I have to go to the bank today.

Nicky: Again? Didn’t you just go the other day?

Neil: The bank wants me to prove that I actually signed that check to get the deluxe cat tree.

Andrew: I saw you sign for that, why are they confused?

Neil: They said my signature is too inconsistent and they believe I am committing identity fraud.

Neil: Well, I can’t promise that, but for today yes.

Andrew: Neil that is over twenty variations. No wonder they think you’re a scam!

Teller: Please get a consistent signature!

And that is how Neil ends up tattooing his own signature onto his off hand wrist.
