I read the book Julie of the Wolves in the 4th grade, and that's when I started loving wolves. I read the rest of that series as well as many other books about wolves that year. I didn't read much past 4th grade until my junior year of high school, so wolves stayed with me from then on. Now my twitter handle is "magsloveswolves" and people call me that all the time.
