idk this is gonna sound dumb but one thing i dont love abt the musical is like ,, how sad everyone is at moritz’s funeral 

like. idk if u could tell from the Everything about me but i stan him and its?? nothing to do with moritz himself its just 

nobody really liked him or cared much about him in the play. the adults apologized to his father for moritz being such an ungrateful disappointment. herr stiefel said “that boy wasnt mine.” the boys had a brief argument over how he might have killed himself and then they moved on to talking about homework. 

and idk i just feel like! maybe the adults not giving a shit and the kids being desensitized 2 suicide might have been an important part of illustrating the climate spring awakening took place in. same deal with how max’s death was just brushed off by that one teacher and frau gabor u kno ??? like it just says a lot about how things r

many many thoughts and feelings about how the levels of support randy and benson both did/didnt receive as kids, the trauma that they both suffered, and the outcome of the film can all be linked to class/socioeconomic status . the passenger is truly a commentary on the unjust divide of humanity given to lower-middle-upper classes in middle America

Rightt like I truly don’t get why he didn’t turn them himself + what even is Gabriella’s arc this season? She reads to me as an extension of lestat and you could argue that that’s how he perceives her but still 😭 the hyperfixation on the great conversion and the accent/wig is just ridiculous. And don’t get me started on the vampire Sam. He can go to hell

see like……maybe things’ll be properly wrapped up in 3x07 (honestly not necessarily holding my breath on that front, unfortunately)….but it really felt like gabrielle was using lestat as a conduit for making fledglings, and while she partially succeeded, i never thought SHE herself would make one too.

though i do think it could be read as gabrielle misunderstanding what a maker/fledgling is like. when she and lestat became vampires together, his turning of her effectively blurred the lines between parent/child/sexual partner (which…as we know, isn’t actually fully blurred, as lestat still views her as his mother and had a habit of referring to her as such when they were in paris). you can tell gabrielle’s discomfort and shock at the idea of alex now becoming her child, as to her lestat had Stopped being her child the moment he turned her.

idk like….gabrielle getting nicked in the womb to avoid having more children, not expecting a fledgling to be like a child to her until lestat explicitly calls her alex’s mother….idk
