i sit on his lap facing him as he holds a gun to my head for what feels like hours. neither of us speak. he doesn't know i know that he thinks of pulling the trigger. he imagines it, a detailed and graphic image in his mind. every now and then, he jerks his hips and gently ruts against me. my eyes are glassy, but i don't break eye contact. he stares into them, his eyes full of passion in some fucked up way. finally, he decides it's enough, and he kisses me roughly, still holding the gun.

I love season 2 episode 7 for so many reasons. I feel like it brings some reality to the series. Grounds it. To me it's their way of saying, this story we're telling? It's abnormal, it's amazing, it's spectacular and unbelievable and it's the best and worst of every iteration and extremes of these characters in the universe.

I keep mentioning that it's WEIRD no one talks a lot about the fact that there are not only bombs in the series but magical bombs to boot. It's played straight and it's played so well that I think people overlook them all together. The fact that a bomb exploded in an apartment theft was fucked UP. Everyone after that played it straight, they walked it off and made jokes and Mylo had the balls to try and put that on POWDER of all people. It's not normal to find a bomb in an apartment and it's not normal to have it explode.

Bombs and guns and violence are used regularly and for the most part that's the lives these characters live. In Zaun that's just how it is and Piltover doesn't have to worry because they have most of the weapons anyway.

The S2 E7 shows us that that is NOT the fucking norm. It's not accepted and it's not what anyone wants and it's not what most people experience???? We're given this vignette in an interesting world with THE most interesting characters you could pull from in this place in this time. And that's a good way to tell a story but I feel like people overlook that so carelessly.

These characters have the actual potential to be "boring" and live peaceful lives and live like normal ass normal real life human have-a-job and grow up and figure out what you want to do lives. Powder was doing that, Jinx had and has the potential to be completely unremarkable in a world full of "Legends" (I'm so sorry) and we get this story from the perspective of what might be her most interesting.

I hope I'm getting my point across the right way. I love Powder and Jinx as characters, I would gladly take any story they want to tell with her but if they ever give us a moment in time or a glimpse of a universe with her and everyone ALIVE including and ESPECIALLY Vi I would be over the moon. It would be a year making moment for me. I would take every iteration and scrap of this character for no other reason than I love her so much and I think she's fascinating.

I feel like I haven't advanced with my dissertation at all this year so the realization that we are now 6 months in and i'm still nowhere closer to moving forward with is is making me want to cry
