(I never finished banner fall (sadly) and in turn have lost the plot of 4c and his past lore, meaning idk if this is even possible but idc!) Listen man I feel like they could've grew up as orphans together learning to pickpocket to survive or something, then timeline wise they both leave home about the same time. Listen I could've just said normal 4c but for some reason making it bf!4c makes me so much happier and idk why it just feels right???? The lore not there, the environment not there, the logic also lacking, BUT LIKE I JUST WANT IT TO BE THAT WAY IN MY HEAD AT LEAST

we see how much more powerful spock is in s1 ep24: this side of paradise physically and this isnt at all to take away from his genuine physical prowess — but that fight didnt make kirk seem weaker in the SLIGHTEST. he was getting his ass beat, yea, but vulcan air and whatnot was also in play. my thibg is, kirk himself admits in this side of paradise that spock could beat his ass bc duh. Hes half vulcan. So not only does he go into pon farr KNOWING hes basically an underdog, he does so with the INTENT of not even TRYING THAT HARD. This is insane to me okay. If they were a wrestling faction, this would have me in the rpf tag hooting and hollering ok.
wrestling psychology is so freaking fascinating to me and i wont go into the technical terms in too deep but when factions (groups, basically) or tag teams are put into situations where they have to fight each other, it’s obviously a common trope for them to go easy on each other. But this is more than that for kirk. he KNOWS that he already doesn’t stand a chance against spock, even in his blood fever state, that guy is still a vulcan AND significantly larger than him. still, jim goes into the fight and he fights like that.
i wouldnt go as far as to say that spock comes off as a heel (bad guy) but his moves were pretty heel-ish! he uses the weapons and draws blood from kirk (boobie window LOLLLL), he genuinely seems intent on killing his opponent, and he’s fighting to hurt. i said it on my previous post, but again, kirk isnt fighting to hurt; only defend. and if this was a wrestling match between a well-known faction/tag-team, it would be genuinely crazy to see because theres still a tenderness underneath the urgency. Kirk doesnt want to die by spock’s hand, so of course he fights back to the best of his ability, but whatever regard he may have for his life is SIGNIFICANTLY LESS IMPORTANT than the notion of simply making sure spock stays alive. hes been downright suicidal before, but i find this such an intimate and crazy decision on his end (granted, he didn’t know about the fight to the death part when agreeing) because he still seems to be choosing spock over himself in that fight.
in other scenes/episodes where hes engaged in combat, hes still hard on the offense. we saw how he was with the gorn or gary mitchell or even his senior officer’s kind of hallucination whatever that was on shore leave (i keep forgetting the guy’s name oops) — kirk is well acquainted with throwing hands. but i feel like hes on the offense less in amok time than he was in this side of paradise. it’s almost like he’s not trying to snap spock out of it as much and is simply emgaging with the ritual as best as he can. once again, drawing it back to pro wrestling, this kind of a match would lowkey be really crazy. I have a few matches that are giving me similar imagery but it’s like 3am and i cant decide which ship it reminds me of exactly LMAOO.
someone’s mom has probably thought of this already but i just felt so crazy earlier bc this is exactly what pro wrestling is. Pon farr can be an AEW match or something idk…. It also doesn’t quite help that there are lines which would make BANGER wrestling rpf fic titles. but yea, heelish spock vs babyface jim in a no disqualification match!!! or is this more of a texas death match ??? either way, i think this episode scratched an itch that i never get scratched but i also hope will be scratched when i consume media, if that makes sense??
