How do you guys do translations? I like to write the literal translation word for word first and then write the translation again in a way that actually makes sense. I just like to see how the words are placed and then make note of the word order for future use.

So... i haven't been active lately. But tomorrow marks my last day of this quarter. And then I’m finally free for summer break. So expect more thai updates next week. I already have some ideas of posts that I might make.

Korean is going alright. I really need to work on learning vocab. But the more important thing right now is to get the grammer down. This is the most grammer heavy language I've learned so far. Not surprising since it's my first asian language. (Still think Japanese would have been more easier since I feel like I would be able too recognize more words. Cause of anime.) Work parents are helpful. Both think that they are great teachers lol. Work mom helps me more by actually talking to me in korean. And doesn't get discouraged when I don't understand what she's saying. Work dad is helpful for when I have questions. He's more approachable than work mom. They both help more with vocab and translations and culture kinda. I don't really expect them to be too useful with grammer. Just like when I help others learning English, I can tell them what they did wrong, but I can't always explain *why* it's wrong. But i can definitely feel improvement. I can read slightly faster than when I started. And im slowly recognizing more words when I hear them. I may not 100% understand korean, but when I hear it, it's starting to feel really familiar. Work mom offered to lend me a childrens book in korean. So we'll see if she remembers to bring that next time. And she keeps insisting that I get a korean boyfriend... (Not that i wouldn't mind lol) I'm also realizing there are more koreans in my city than I thought.

Kinda frustrated with myself right now. Korean just keeps getting harder and harder. And i know i should just keep practicing and doing my best, but I've kinda lost my drive to learn it. Like I really do want to continue, but at the same time, I don't want to come to class cause I'm slowly falling behind. I probably just need a break. Or at least have some time off to catch back up and then continue. My korean work parents are so happy with my learning korean and I just want to make them proud and be able to have a nice conversation with them in only Korean. Just one more month and I'm done with this quarter.

Spent the whole day practicing my korean. Decided to watch anime after to relax. My head is trying to turn japanese into korean. Not translate from japanese to korean, but try to make japanese into korean. And it’s really messing with my head right now 😣
