Stone’s Idolatrous IPA (Thanks, Drew!). A 3 of 4. Nice combination of tropical and pine on the nose with a grassiness as well. Quite light body with some fruity sweetness and a firm, bitter finish. Drinks lighter than its description, and quite good.
How Idolatrous my heart can be
The Lord is near me. I am not alone. Even if everyone else leaves I am not alone. What shall I thirst after, if my soul has what is satisfying? What should I crave if I already have what my soul longs for? Why should I seek after a husband or more clothes or a child or that friend that left me or fame or attention or popularity or acceptance or anything? I shall have no other longings but Christ. It is my prayer that I strive after only Jesus Christ. Because it is Him that my soul should crave and it is in Him that my soul finds rest and peace and joy and fulfillment. Only in Him. He gives me all the attention and affection and love that I need. And so if the Lord is with me, I do not need anyone or anything else. My starving and aching soul can only be satisfied with Christ. My sinful and wicked heart can only be cleansed and made pure because of and by Jesus Christ. Who or what else should I ever desire but Him? How foolish my heart is to even dare to ever desire something else so deeply aside from the Lord my God. How idolatrous my heart can be.
