Recipe for a better end of the day, even if your background noise is quitative to that of a mental hospital:
Light an incense or aromatic candles (it has a better effect if it's so pungent you're choking in it)
Make an XXXL sized mug of herbal tea. Do not drink supermarket poison! It must be warm and also aromatic.

Plug in your fairy lights, or ditch your big light for lamps.
Take a book. Smell it. Asphyixate yourself in it. In fact, it's better if you surround yourself with a few of these. You may redact an essay on it, or-- (if reading really isn't your thing) play a silly childhood game, colour something (don't draw, you'll get frustrated or start pouring out all those negative feelings we're trying to avoid; if you're writing, it's better to write about something carefully detached to your own self, such as the essays or a fun fic).
Don't think about real life.
You can do this. Just one more night.
It's better if you're showered and perfumed too.
