I don't hyperfixate much anymore and god do I wish I did but I don't.

I'm trying to fall in love with being alive again and I can't do both. Hyperfixations were escapism and I don't know how to interact with interests now that I no longer rely on them for a will to live.

I want to have those interests and they're all silently waiting for me, but until I am ready they will stay waiting.

I remember my life being Harry Potter, being Percy Jackson, being Maximum Ride. As a kid who felt a disbelonging, who felt powerless, they kept me alive.

And as I find my own two feet to stand on, I look forward to having new interests and to finding new interests. But I no longer need them
