This is one of the Sutcliffs that I can never remember if I've read or not (which says something in and of itself), but I think I have. If it is indeed the one I'm thinking of, it was well enough up for most of the book but I was very frustrated in how the Christianity thread ended.

I know the series is generally well-loved and I will probably get to it at some point, but it's pretty low on my list and what I've heard about it hasn't moved it up at all.

Poldark?

Nah | haven’t seen yet | didn’t like/gave up | like it | love it | highly recommend.

It’s so soap-operay but SO GOOD! I’m afraid the later seasons may push the drama too far, but I adored the first one! (I’m like, halfway through the second). Aidan Turner is hot like fire. Also I love Demelza with my ENTIRE HEART.

Reading list prompts: a book with a child main character, a book with more than three people on the cover.

For the book with a child main character, I reread North to Freedom by Anne Holm. I remember reading this years ago because it was the book I am David was based off of and thinking I liked the movie better. This time around, I remember almost nothing about the movie, but I still think I liked it better - there were some good parts and thoughtful observations in the book, but it also suffered from pacing, selective historical and physical setting (somehow, despite most of it being very grounded in Europe), and at least one massive coincidence to resolve the plot.

For a book with more than three people on the cover, I read The Golf Omnibus by P. G. Wodehouse. I'm not a golfer nor do I have any real interest in golfing, but it was Wodehouse. Some of the stories were new and some were ones I'd read before; overall, I found them a mixed bag. I continue to appreciate how Wodehouse's end-result couples are generally very evenly matched, but the silliness of the things in which they're sometimes matched stuck out by the end of the thirty-first story. Then again, the entire golfer-attitude seemed beyond the pale at times, so that's probably par for the course here.

23. A book where you disagree with one of its messages, but still enjoy it. After some consideration, I think The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare falls into this category.

26. An author on your B-tier: Not one of your favorites, but you enjoy their work. It depends book by book, but Agatha Christie would probably count: I read her books and have enjoyed some of them, but I don't search out her books.

Tagged by @captaingondor - thank you! I don't have a favorite playlist (or much in the way of playlists at all), so I put most of my music library on shuffle and away I went.
