2. A movie you consider a crime against humanity? I don't tend to watch movies that would fall into this category, but I guess we can go with a 1930s musical whose name I no longer remember - what I do remember was that they really pushed the envelope with what they showed and suggested on-screen before there were codes about what they could say and show. :| (OH WAIT. Also at least one of the Star Wars sequel movies. :| )

18. A story you want to see as an animated movie? I don't tend to gravitate towards animation when I think about stories being made into movies, but I feel like there is one I've thought would be good animated. Unfortunately, I can't remember it now :P, but how about *frantically scrolls through book lists* The Enchanted Sonata by Heather Dixon Wallwork?

19. A story you want to see as a live action movie I'd love to see at least the first three of the Fairy Tale Novels done beyond a student film, but Waking Rose is the one that gets me excited about portraying parallels and themes.

20. A movie you want a sequel to? I feel like it's been too long now, but The Man from U.N.C.L.E. could've had a fun sequel.

21. A movie you never want a sequel to? No more Star Wars sequels, please. :P

It snowed here recently and i didn't want to go to the store, so my dad bought my snack food for me when he went to buy groceries. Also for my 5th year anniversary at work i got a little plaque, $50 on my next paycheck, and a gift card for a free pie.

We are never told to pray for bad stuff to happen so that good stuff can result. This prayer is asking for discernment, wisdom, and good judgment. It isn't saying 'God make everything easy until I get married', it's asking for help in not getting caught in romances that won't go anywhere. I personally have never 'caught feelings' for anyone, and i don't think it's self-serving to be grateful for that.

I am not saying that you should pray for bad things to happen to you. I am simply saying that having feelings for people is a part of seeking a spouse, it is natural, normal, it’s not sinful, and disappointment at some point is almost inevitable.

So yes, in part, the prayer is in fact saying “God make everything easy until I get married”. I am not saying you can’t pray for that. I have. But, it does sort of promote the idea that a) suffering rejection means you’ve somehow failed to obey God and b) one should make themselves emotionally unavailable until they’re 100% certain they’re going to marry their intended. Or alternately, c) a side-effect which also occurs, imagine that a person who’s been as lucky as you have “catches feelings” for the very first time and instantly assumes that means it’s God’s will for them to marry that person.

1. What’s your current favorite song? In the Night, Andrew Peterson. Heard just this past week on my new favorite radio station, Pilgrim Radio here in WY.

2. Weirdest book you’ve ever read? Ooh. This will take some thought. No, wait! I’ve got it! The Woman in the Wall. Read it ages ago (>10 yrs) but wow was it weird so I still remember most of it. This girl is always ignored, by literally everyone, and sometimes they can’t see her?? So at a young age she uses her precocious carpentry skills and makes hidden rooms in her family’s big house and disappears into the walls and her family literally forgets she existed! They call her the house gnome, or something, because she does things for them when they’re not looking. This goes on for years, but then the sweet neighbor guy learns about her and finds her and saves her when the house burns down. Wow.

3. Someone gives you a million dollars, tax-free. What’s the first thing you spend it on that’s for you? Hm good question. A portable mini washing machine. Or tickets to Europe. XD

4. What color would you say you speak in? Kind of a pale lavender? Because usually I’m trying to be inoffensive and kind, and I’m very quiet.

5. Henceforth, you must always eat the same thing for breakfast. What is it? Oh dear. Cheerios and milk, I suppose. Healthy enough and not too strongly flavored.

6. What was the chore you liked best when you were a kid? Scrubbing down the dining table benches every few months. I loved seeing how dirty the washrag got. XD

7. What stereotype best fits you? Quiet wallflower, probably. Hopefully in a few years it’ll be the quiet nurse always on hand to help.

8. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self (5-10 years ago)? Another hard question. How about, “People aren’t watching you as much as you think, and even when they are there’s no point in worrying about it. Lighten up and be yourself more.”

9. What was your favorite era of history to study? Do I have to pick? ;) Probably WWII.

10. Favorite Winnie-the-Pooh character? Winnie the Pooh himself. Without question. I still have my Winnie stuffed friend I carried everywhere as a kid.

11. Do you ever wonder why we’re here? Not really - I know we’re here to learn about God and glorify Him. :)

Ummmm...I don’t know...I mean, if it’s like part of my personality, maybe just that I persevere and am pretty set in what I believe? If it’s something I’ve done...maybe leading teams for my church’s reach out events?

At least sort of - it's a book I know I should read and I will probably get around to it eventually, but I have yet to make any effort to read it.

If I had found the series on a shelf at the right age, I probably would've read it as I read almost anything I could at that point. However, my first memory of the series in anything besides possibly a catalog was some friends complaining about them, so any small interest I might've had is long since dead.

This is a classic I do mean to read at some point, but the copy we had when I was growing up was abridged and I've never actually hunted down a copy. :">
