My gilded piece “Rendezvous at Kissing Rock” has successfully found a new home with Maile and Mr. Huvar. I love doing commission work. I like the surprise of suddenly getting a Facebook Messenger text from someone who has fallen in love with one of my photographs and wants it in their own home, in metal or gilded—even on canvas, sometimes. Then the fun of seeing the project through from beginning to happy ever after in a new home. My husband, Peter Jensen, asked me to make him this hand gilded copper and silver inkjet print of a Curlew at #tillamookhead taken at the #zenoceanzenlight retreat on vellum for Christmas. The glass and inherent glow make it difficult to photograph accurately—reflections are a problem. The application of precious metals to the back of the image make it glow as if illuminated from within.
