Long post ahead 🚨
Soo, earlier today I was doing homework and for some reason, I started thinking about how I got to where I am now, academically: a 4th-year undergrad who is majoring in Psychology and has aspirations to go to medical school to become a neurologist or a psychiatrist. I remember being a senior in high school and applying to schools for English or Journalism, nowhere near the science field, much less medicine considering how much I hated Biology. I was still interested in Psych though. I actually wrote my essay on mental health in teenagers, but I still didn’t want to major in it.
Fast forward to my first semester of college and being so overwhelmed by the amount of classes and the workload. I was behind on a lot of assignments, especially English. I ended up having my professor tell me that there was really no point in coming to class anymore because of my missing assignments and to just drop the course, so I took a WF for that class (stupid move on my part). The spring semester wasn’t any better. Altogether, I ended my freshman year with a 2.3 GPA (FYI, bringing your GPA back up after that is really hard). I lost all my aid and had to switch to the part time program (non-traditional student) with a major in Psychology because I hated English and I never wanted to deal with it again lmao jk sorta. There I took night classes and weekend classes (only maybe 3 classes a semester as opposed to the traditional 5). I did much better in my classes (2.9 GPA now almost at 3.0) and I was starting to come around to doing something related to Psych in my future career. Then, I took my Cognitive Neuroscience class and ooooomahhhgadddd. I was basically in brain heaven lmao like I knew I enjoyed learning about the brain but I didn’t think I would have loved it this much. And that class pretty much opened my mind to the thought of going to medical school. And I know I’m still going to have to take Intro to Biology. I tried but withdrew early on bc i suck, but I’m going to try again because I think I’m getting better at learning what strategies work best for me in that class.
I guess what I really wanted to say in this long post is that sometimes things fall apart to come together later on. I know going through those rough patches in life is really hard and it feels like nothing is going your way, but I believe you need to fail to succeed in life. Everything will be okay in the end, you just need to try to keep your head above the water long enough to see that.
My favorite subject will always be History! Also your blog is so cute!! Keep up the great work!!

I saw that in one of your desk pics. You have a muji steam maker??? What does it do?
it’s actually an aroma diffuser from taotronics. you can put water + essential oils inside and it’ll diffuse the scent in your room. you can see more in my desk tour video and my diffuser giveaway video.
Honestly biology makes me thing of plants and the human heart. With colors like green and red. but with a more pinker red and a lighter green. You could make a human heart with vines around.
ooh that’d be cool!! I already put the heart in one of the loops of the word but HECK YEAH LET’S PUT HEARTS EVERYWHERE ANATOMICALLY CORRECT FTW thank you friend
