What dynamic do you think Aris is? I personally see him as an omega but I could see him being a beta
hmmmm it depends on book or film because i cannot see them having the same one. like, they aren't identical. if book!Aris is a Beta, then movie!Aris is an Omega. that being said, i could see either as an Omega but for different reasons if that makes sense.
so, for my understanding at least, Omegas are territorial in a different way Alphas are since it's nothing overt and more environmental. scenting and leaving some of their own stuff in other peoples' rooms/spaces as a way to nonverbally say, "Mine, do not touch," so with Aris, his big Mine was Rachel. which he lost. quite horrifically in both narratives
book!Aris reads to me as a more aggressive type of Omega, and with him witnessing Rachel's death immediately before he's relocated with Thomas???? that Aris has been seconds away from crashing out with how much he is seething in jealousy and the audacity of Thomas wanting to have his cake and eat it too without WCKD (and i do think it's possible for the characters to chalk up his sour/upset scent as him feeling on the outs and disoriented from Group B/his pack)
movie!Aris, however, knows Rachel is in this building with him but he isn't sure where and he knows whatever it happening has to be bad. and then has his suspicions confirmed in the most horrific way (imo it'd prob take Thomas a little longer to drag Aris away from that pod room because he does not want to leave Rachel, aka the One Person that was His). and ofc, movie!Aris does not have his memories like his book counterpart does. he goes into Group B with more of a blank slate than book!Aris does, and gets acclimated to Group B's pack dynamics (eh, 3 days might not realistically enough but movie magic, work with me). so, with this Aris, he isn't aggressive necessarily since Aris seems to already respect the formed dynamics between the Gladers, but when he's reunited with Harriet and Sonya, he is not letting them go for a while. sure, Sonya ran to hug him first, but Aris is not letting go and don't even think of prying him off
damn well-dressed by hop along really does have its own vibe doesn’t it
Hey, mike, are you asexual?
Interesting question with a complicated answer.
Cuz I've actually been thinking about this for the longest time.
I knew a guy in school whose name was Patrick but he went by Joey as his middle name was Joseph and he hated the name Patrick, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone with the middle name Jonas went by Joey too.
oh nice! Thanks anon
same. this playlist isn’t completely based on Her, but (at least to me) it has that kind of vibe
like, discrimination agaianst fantasy races is- of course- not real, but theres often a pattern between how someone treats a fantasy race like ghouls or synths or orcs or something and how they treat groups of real life people
