Why we use Honey for Oshun?

Oshun is also known as the the goddess of the sweet waters...and within that more or less is the metaphor that she is the giver or controller of all the things sweet that can be offered or attained in life...physically, spiritually or in other aspects.

Honey is used because of its naturalality and sweetness, coming from bees, which are golden and black in color, an insect that is very constructive and lead by a QUEEN (female energy). Honey is golden in color which amplifies its exclusivity to ROYALTY.

The Power of Ancestral Veneration

Who am I? How did I get here?

Often we are thought growing up that the dead is just that...dead...where they await judgement or condemnation.

As an Ifa Orisa devotee, I believe that death is another form of elevation...Spiritual elevation and that though I may not be able to be in physical contact with my ancestors, I can definitely pay reverence.

I can offer libations, prepare their favorite meal as a form of respect or offering for their help or in Thanksgiving. Despite their personality while here on earth, there are different aspects of our lives that they will be able to assist us in.

Goddess of the rivers, I look at you as so much more. I dont equate you with sexuality or worldly possessions.. you're a healer. You have been my healer.

You heal the broken hearted, you help us foster self love. You are patient and kind with your children. Your are forgiving and loving. You love and wrath can be incurred strongly depending on the circumstances.

You fight for your children. You take our plight as your own. May we continue to see the greatness, the good face, gain blessing, feel the love of Oshun all the days of our lives.

Hey guys! So I know things have been a little iffy with my spiritual practice recently and I’m sorry for kind of leaving you guys hanging in terms of my path and my spiritual journey so here’s a little update c:

Recently I’ve begun learning more and more about Ifa Orisha -a west African spiritual practice- and have begun my journey to learn more and prepare myself to one day be initiated into the practice as there’s many things that are closed off to non-initiates.

Now I don’t claim to be an expert or anything rn and if anyone has any help or info they’d like to share with me on the topic I’d be forever grateful. Sorry in advance for anything I get wrong or words I screw up😊💚

I cleared off my old neglected desk/altar and fixed it up! (I’m a closet witch still living at home so it’s not a super obvious shrine).

So warning the before pictures are horrendous 😆

I cleared the whole thing off and reorganized my whole space and cleansed it with a Rose (for love and purity) incense stick. The coins are offerings to the ancestors as well as the crystals. I also bought 4 Cowrie shells for Obi divination along with some copper jewelry and a bracelet from Brazil that I cleansed and purified for daily spiritual work. I’ll have more pictures of those later for you all c;
