The warmth sinks into Caelum’s bones as he dusts some snow off his pants legs in the doorway of the Crystal Tavern. It's a little livelier in here than most places he’s visited around town with people drinking and chattering among themselves. These aren’t the kind of places that Caelum would usually frequent but it was warm and one drink couldn’t hurt right and there’s always the bonus of warm food. The woman, Lute, is quick to acknowledge him with a smile which he gladly returns before approaching the bar to place an order for his meal. Some of the dishes he’s not quite heard of and that makes him a little nervous so he plays the safe option and order something he’s had before or at least recognizes. She tells him it’ll be right up and he’s left alone to find an open seat among the sea of people.
Caelum does find a few scattered here and there with some rowdier patrons he’d rather not get involved with until he’s settled down here so he passes them over. As he scans the room his eyes pass over a familiar face that makes him do a double take. Surely he was seeing things, there’s no way . . . Yet there he sits, not quite looking at Caelum but someone else sitting at the table with him. He wants to call out to him, but instead, he lingers back waiting for the other person to leave the table and eventually they do push their seat out and leave the table. It's relief that he feels like a weight has been lifted from his shoulders that had settled deep in his bones. He’s not handled his disconnect from his magic very well since he’s arrived, but this, this makes him feel a little better, a little less alone.
Caelum approaches the table carefully while trying to restrain a laugh as he says, “ Ah, a fortune teller what a rare sight. Do you think you can tell me my fortune? “
