Madonna...strike a pose!
Yesterday I did something really freaking amazing; I caught the bus! This probably sounds absolutely ridiculous to most people, but it was a REALLY BIG DEAL and REALLY SCARY for me. I used to catch the bus all around Swansea, but I knew Swansea, and it wasn’t always easy. I often got stranded. I haven’t used the bus in the five years I’ve lived in Cardiff; I’ve been too scared. What if I got lost, or got off at the wrong stop, or got stranded, or had a spasm-seizure on the bus? What if we do? I’ll deal with it! In all honesty, what finally gave me the kick up the ass to use the bus is money; taxis are just so expensive! Even just by catching the bus to and from dance class every week, I’ll be saving £30 A WEEK! But here’s the thing; now I’ve actually caught the bus and survived the journey(and in fact, greatly enjoyed! I’m made so many friends!) and now that I have a bus pass that allows me and my companion to catch the bus FOR FREE, I feel like the whole world has opened up to me. I’m pretty sure this is how people feel when they learn to drive. When I realised I could get a bus pass for free, I was like, okay, so what’s the catch? But there isn’t one! I CAN GO ANYWHERE FOR FREE! For me, this now means I could have a whole day out (at the park, the museum, etc) entirely for free. I feel like crying at the prospect of so much freedom 😭💖 And I’m sure there will be bad days; even yesterday, I had to wait for the hexagon bus to come at my stop, because it was full. But I managed. And the fact that the people taking the bus, and the people driving the bus, were so kind, so friendly, and so helpful has really encouraged me. I CAN DO THIS 💪🏻 Basically, I’m really proud of myself! #caughtthebus #gotmybuspass #itsawesome #ifeelsofree #proudofmyself💪 (at Cardiff) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bys5N3ghLF4/?igshid=14o7hzjvusoec
