i have a question for any of my readers who still happen to be on tumblr... if theres any of you out there...*squint*

over the last couple of days I binged IFIYD and NATA as a means to escape some difficult emotions in my life rn (hooray we love avoidance LMAO) and it brought me so much joy and comfort.. and made me dust off my google doc on the third installment.

i know what you're thinking: megan shut the FAWK up you've brought this up several times during the last few years and have never done anything about it IMTIRED andKAHDSKGDS you're not wrong, i hear you, but ALSO what ive written so far is so fking good it makes me sad for it to just.. sit there 😭 idk how much i've talked about it on here, but i envisioned the story in three or four parts, in different povs, because one thing about me is i switch povs like a mf (as my readers will know kjdsg). thats just how it is around here. the povs would be deidara, kakashi, iruka, and potentially (probably) itachi.

deidara's pov is the one that is almost finished, and who i always planned to post first. (-.- i think..)

my question to u is.. how much would you hate me if i posted deidara's pov, and then had no idea when the other pov's would be ready..... with the possibility they could take a long time 💀 OR would you rather i not post anything until its complete complete. ultimately i know i can do whatever i want but.. i like asking.

it would be posted as a 3-4 chapter fic, but each pov (chapter) would probably read more like a stand alone one-shot. so its not like you'd be left with cliffhangers or anything.

as you can tell.. i dont really care about rules when it comes to fic writing LMAO. but also fandom seems a bit more scary now in some respects; its changed a lot in the last 4-5 years & creators get a lot of shit from entitled people (they always have, but it seems to have worsened during the pandemic..?)

anyways. im rambling now. i may just be talking to the void but.. so be it. if you're around.. lemme know...or maybe i'll just randomly drop it on ao3 one day when u least expect it.

I randomly decided to clean out my notes app, and I found this tiny snippet of a scene I wrote in may 2020 apparently. it's from the IFIYD & NATA verse.. takes place somewhere in between. It's just a bit of dialogue and rough directional notes etc... but it made me laugh, so I thought I'd drop it here.

Ah, nostalgia. T.T

Kakashi, arm slung around itachi’s shoulders, very drunk. (At a party?)

“I’m going to marry that man,” kakashi proclaims, staring at iruka across the room.

“Isn’t it a little too soon to be talking about marriage?”

“Oh, definitely. That’s why I’m telling you...” kakashi bops itachi on the nose “...instead of him,” he says, pointing at Iruka, who just so happens to look at him in that moment. 

Iruka walks over. 

“What are you two talking about?”

“You,” kakashi says, unashamedly

Iruka blushes, rubbing at the back of his neck, and oh god. Kakashi feels it coming. He can’t stop it...

“I’m going to marry you.”

“...what? Kakashi, you’re drunk.”

“Yes...I am,” kakashi says, lifting his beer in recognition before taking another sip. “And I’m going to marry you.”

Iruka laughs.

Kakashi drops the arm holding his beer to his side, hurt. 

“What? Why are you laughing, Iruka? I’m going to marry you.” Kakashi says, very seriously. 

Itachi slides out from underneath Kakashi’s arm and walks away, patting Iruka on the shoulder as he passes, whispering good luck with a raise of his eyebrows. 

“Say it.” Kakashi’s brow is drawn together and creased. 

“Kakashi... what...”

“Say we’re going to get married.” Kakashi’s eyes are getting watery.

“You make it sound like I have no choice in the matter,” Iruka says, laughing a little, trying to lighten the mood. It backfires. 

“Do you not want to be with me?” Kakashi asks, barely above a whisper. “I knew it. I knew this day would come. It’s too good, you’re too good—“

“Kakashi what are you talking about? Of course I want to be with you!”

“So I’m just not husband material?” Kakashi asks, his voice cracking, completely dejected. 

Iruka really wants to laugh. This is so ridiculous. What the hell is kakashi talking about. Admittedly, Iruka couldn’t picture his future without kakashi anymore, he didn’t want to, but he wasn’t expecting to have this conversation so soon. Before he could speak, kakashi continued his rambling: 

“You’re husband material,” he slurs. “Like so much.” He emphasized.

“I don’t even know what that means,” Iruka says, a little exasperated. “And last time I checked, in order to become a husband, you have to actually -ask- someone for their hand in marriage.”

Kakashi scrunches his face together, deciphering those words, before his face lights up, and he puts his beer down on a near by table, ungracefully trying to get down on one knee. 

“Oh my god,” Iruka says, lifting Kakashi up by the armpits. “I think it’s time to go.”

i hate when i open a doc being like today is solely for EDITING so we can WRAP THIS UP and then i add an entire new scene and fuck everything up and gotta make it fit all together again skdjghjsk

some of my fics were so lovingly translated into Russian several years ago, and somehow I never ended up going to the page to poke around. Well I did last week...and there was 926 comments on IFIYD. 48 PAGES. KSDHGLS Granted, the translator was also replying to many of the comments too but it was still A LOT, and very fun to read, able it a sort of strange experience. I read them all, and was so, so touched.

This one made me feel proud of my story, despite wishing I could have written it better.. wondering if i went too overboard with the angst now LMAO but i was writing from a place of deep experience back then; such was my reality. Makes me feel good that the overall message still came through. I've been a bit intimidated, writing it again, so it served as a much needed boost. I wanted to put it here as a keepsake.. as part of my own archive to revisit, since it wasn't left on my own ao3 but on the translator's page.

Thank you, you beautiful person. For understanding what I was trying to do (and say) so well. 💗
