⁣ Samsung Galaxy Note 10+⁣ Taken on 31/10/2020.⁣ ⁣ Castel del Monte is a beautiful village which perched on the top of a hill in the Gran Sasso mountain range in Abruzzo.⁣ ⁣ Ranked as one of the 'Borghi Più Belli d'Italia' (the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy) thanks to its well-preserved architecture – despite being struck by an earthquake – mostly dating back to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period, Castel del Monte was ruled by the Medicis from 1579 until a century and a half later, and their legacy includes the Chiesa di San Marco with its distinctive tower.⁣ ⁣ In addition, around the town are strong defensive walls, which are also houses, and five defensive gates also dating to the Medici period.
