Okay I watched the IGN vid :)

Thoughts below

(I’m also going to find posts and gifs to reblog, I'll tag it ignfirst and the usual tags for spoilers - spoilers, mea spoilers, mea, mass effect andromeda)

-Ryder's waist and hips are extremely thin, it was bad enough to bother me.  -When I hear "observer" I think about Fringe so that’s a bit weird -I love the music during the fights -I LOVE that sliding thing Ryder does going from cover to cover. It sounds much better than the cover system in ME3 - though I felt the person playing wasn't staying in cover enough - often facing the enemies without moving -I'm a bit disappointed by SAM's interaction with Ryder. It felt like it was a tutorial, "press this" or "scan that" -This player knows which skill to use in advance, I’m curious to see how the system works when you come in unprepared. What makes you pick one and not another? It seems a lot about failing first, doing better second -The friendly Observer looks so much like Glyph... Nostalgia!!! -I thought Kalinda was a rival Pathfinder! Which would have been fun tbh. 

And that’s it. It wasn't as great as I thought it would be, but it wasn’t bad. Idk what the issue is with animations or Peebee. She had to be revived twice, but considering how little we saw the player handling the squadmates I can assume it has to do with either poor armor for them or simply because Peebee needs to be handled better in a fight. The animations seemed alright to me, I’m surprised it was pointed out as a negative part of the vid.

I noticed with the IGN comments most people weirdly complained most about PEEBEE'S voice saying she sounded like Dora The Explorer, annoying, childish. I personally didn't have any issues with her voice, what about you?

None at all? I’m veeeeery surprised.

If anything I wasn’t that into the sort of overly positive/describing what you are doing it as you are doing it Ryder voice, though there were nice moments.On the whole I thought the voice acting was very strong and good.

omega, i'm glad you noticed the waist and hips, too! honestly, when i saw ry/der from the back for the first time in that ign first, i thought she was a turian for a split second... then again, bi/oware have never been very good with accurate body proportions :( sorry, i don't wanna be too critical when i know people are excited, but yeah, it bothered me, too.

It did look like a turian, and I was genuinely bothered for a few minutes, because I wasn’t even sure if it was really Ryder. But I’m hoping we’ll get a different version in the game, one that is definitely improved. I think the devs tried to reassure people, so now it’s more of a waiting game until we play and can verify for ourselves. 

But I also wonder if we can pick the default face/look and do some changes to the body. I’ll ask MJ. (I’m slowly catching up!)

I forgot which post it was but the game devs said that the dialogue in the video was heavily edited so that the characters weren't giving out spoilers left and right. It was supposed to show case SAM's abilities in the field. I'm sure SAM will be a lot more interesting and do more than just be a scanner tool.

Yeah I'm hoping that's all it is, I really want to have a good relationship with SAM. I also wonder if Kalinda meant SAM when she said: "A triple share to whoever brings me their sweet implants" ?? Could have interpreted it wrong, though.

Didn’t watch it with subtitles on so I missed that, but it does sound like she’s talking about the Pathfinder implants, yes 

btw all along I thought Kalinda was this rival Pathfinder 

and they were all friends??? And she was just, you know, mocking Ryder a little, like “I’ll get there before you lalalala” 

It’s only when we saw her that I understood, that no, she really is their enemy :D
