HOOO I finished editing/refining this just now, so... I’m very excited to start posting these info sheets on the deities of the pre-Celestial Mercian pantheon
These are really fun to do just by virtue of, like... not having to worry about anatomy or realism at all while doing them? I wanted the deities to be very abstract - Ignion is probably one of the less abstract ones - and it’s an interesting challenge to think about how the appearance of something that has only ever been seen by a handful of people would be described to others, and how that description would change and dilute and evolve over the years as the memory of its true form faded into obscurity
Ignion is also one of the more... directly relative deities, I guess, in that the land is a very real tangible thing, and it’s easy to visualise something that embodies that. A lot of the others represent/are tied to more intangible things and abstract concepts, so I’m super excited to get those out too
