December HAHD Wrap Up
It was an incredible month for Have A Hart Day! International Have A Hart Day was a huge success, serving communities through over twenty events!
Roughly over 100 children and parents were greeted by our incredible South Bend volunteers, who spent their holiday season helping with the festivities:
Volunteers in Chicago packed and sorted 168 bags of food to be delivered to feed 84 families for two weeks!
Our Amsterdam team handed out about 1500 medals, energy bars and water bottles at a running event!
Five volunteers from our Birmingham team stuffed over 200 stockings with presents for foster children for the holidays!
Our @HaveaHartDayBoston team sorted 21,315 lbs of frozen meat!
London volunteers showed up at FareShare Deptoford warehouse while in Tyler, Texas volunteers joined together to wrap and organize presents!
@have-a-hart-twincities volunteers helped out at family focused homeless shelter, cleaning common areas, vacuuming, folding and sorting laundry, and cleaned out a recently vacated room.
2 volunteers walked 5 of São Paulo's public shelter dogs and played with/gave some love to a few puppies:
HAHD volunteers in Penang helped out a dog shelter and 3 dogs were fed, showered & walked:
Our Singapore team helped man two booths at a Holiday Party for 100 Children Beneficiaries and collected donations-in-kind for the MINDS (Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore).
19 volunteers from Lansing greeted guests as they entered the Potter Park Zoo, assisted children with arts and crafts projects, and sang xmas carols throughout the zoo!
Our San Francisco volunteer group made 225 boxed meals for seniors and boxed about 13,200 lb of carrots!
22 volunteers from HAHD Los Angeles helped guide makers and guests of the DTLA Mini Maker Faire to various booths, shows, and maker tables throughout the event. This event is for children and teens in the local area to discover and learn more about technology and science.
@haveahartdayseattle gave back to their city this December as 15 volunteers helped sort and prepare 13 pallets, which is equivalent to about 5,000 pounds of food or 3,800 meals for the 100 families served by this food bank!
Houston IHAHD was a wonderful success! Hannah joined volunteers to make cat beds for Emancipet to handout to pet owners recovering from Hurricane Harvey!
Toronto volunteers also participated in International Have a Hart Day at the Second Harvest Annual Turkey Drive!
Volunteers in Berlin helped out at a kitchen where meals for homeless people were prepared; they chopped, prepared, and organized ingredients for those meals for three hours:
@haveahartgoldcoast helped BeachCare collect 1.9kg of rubbish and remove weeds from local beach.
Thank you to everyone who made it out to our International Have a Hart Day at People Serving People! PSP is the largest family focused homeless shelter in Minnesota. 10 volunteers helped clean common areas, vacuum, do laundry, and cleaned out a room that had just been vacated. We rocked it so hard, we got done with tasks ahead of schedule, so they kept having to find stuff for us to do!
IHAHD LA 2017
For the 2017 International Have a Hard Day Los Angeles Event we volunteered at the DTLA Mini Maker Faire hosted by the Los Angeles Public Library.
We helped with crowd control, directing faire attendees, participating in some faire “making” to encourage participation and delivering water to the staff, makers, and volunteers.
It was a great event to participate in as there were so many interesting booths. The LAPL is a beautiful huge library that has amazing murals and many floors with many rooms with dedicated genres.
Thank you LA team for coming out for this International event!
See you at the next one!!

Join us for International Have a Hart Day! We’ll be volunteering for BeachCare at Paradise Point from 9-11am, on December 2nd. We will be helping to care for our Gold Coast beaches by planting native species, removing weeds and picking up litter.
