jaebum wouldn’t say he’s close to a lot of jinyoung’s friends. sure he’s given most of them rides – or seen them during recitals but being a bit socially awkward, he’s always found it a bit hard to connect with most of them – or a bit hard to start any conversations. but he knew that shying away from most of them would leave a bad impression among jinyoung’s friends, and jaebum being raised to fear being disliked by anyone found himself somehow entangled with helping one of jinyoung’s friends joohyun find a job.

of course, he can’t recall how he came across this information. perhaps during his various trips to picking up jinyoung and joohyun he had overheard their conversation. but that didn’t really matter now did it ?  because the law student found himself settled at some café not to far from campus, waiting for the ballet dancer to arrive. he honestly didn’t mind – after all what could go wrong with helping someone find a job.

so he waits for a few minutes – the soft voices of 10cm filling the rather quiet café as he spots joohyun entering the café. he gives a polite smile, waving his hand to gain her attention. “ hey joohyun-ssi” the greeting coming out a bit later, as the ballet player comes closer, “ are you ready to get started ?”

"maybe i should dress a little riskier," he tells her, glad that he's locked his roommate out of the dorm so he has the privacy to have her over, to lounge in underwear and a shirt that ends too soon, that he lifts up to check his profile in the mirror. sometimes his body feels foreign, like it isn't real, isn't there; a prison of something beyond thought, a slew of emotion. so he runs his hand over his stomach, lifts his heels, watches his body work and function -- hopes that it's real.
