As the year winds down
It’s always a good idea to reflect on the year I’ve had before the next one comes. With that being said:
10 things I had to learn in 2017 and you should learn minus the heartache
- Being petty doesn’t affect the other person as much as you think it does. All it does is cause you to obsess over ways to hurt someone else. That’s toxic
-Stop projecting your hurt feelings onto people who had nothing to do with it
-Holding grudges does nothing but stop a relationship from growing
-Arguing is only good if you remember why. Also keeping an open-mind while arguing keeps everyone’s feelings from getting hurt. Don’t argue just to get your point across, listen to the other side, especially if it is with someone you care about.
-You don’t always have to have the last word
-Swallowing your pride can usually fix anything
-Appreciate the people that come into your life and stay
-Appreciate the people that come into your life and leave
-Solitude is a gift
-Constructive criticism is only constructive if it offers ways to fix something. If it doesn’t it’s just an insult
You've got a ribbon, a dastardly versatile thing. Cut it, tie it, stretch it, tear it. What is it still? A ribbon.
So why do we think we can do that to people? Why do we push and push and push against others until they break, thinking that if we do that, we can mold them into someone else and make them into whatever we want? Why change them when they are beautiful just the way they are? Why make them into something they're not? Why even try?
Because I'll tell you one thing about human nature. Humans are like diamonds. I know you've heard this before, but listen, listen closely. Humans are like diamonds, you put them under immense pressure, like debt, work, single parenting, and they harden to something unbreakable, something that nothing can conquer other than themselves.
You are a diamond. Only you can cut you down and when you are broken into pieces, you can build yourself up and back together into something even more beautiful than before.
if something or someone is upsetting you or making you feel some type of way for whatever reason, please do not be afraid to tell them or make them know about it. this is something i have personally struggled with for many years... as much as i can express myself and speak up for others, i have found it hard to do this for myself, but as time passes and i continue my journey through self development, i'm starting to tell people when they've made me feel some type of way. i'm not saying that people always go out of there way to upset you, disregard you or whatever, but it happens and you have to address it. sending you love and light always 💜✨ #ihopethishelps 💯 #quote #dailyquotes #lifelessons #lessonslearnedinlife #selfdevelopment #selflove #selfcare #emotions #feelings #speakup #sayhowyoufeel #itsbetterinthelongrun https://www.instagram.com/p/B-F0FoigAqt/?igshid=vzhx0icx9bbf
#freetipfriday ... probably not warranty approved by @martineztools but you can use the M1 handle as extra leverage on your nail bar, much like a mechanic will use a second box end wrench. #ihopethishelps #tinytip #worksmarternotharderig harder #toolsworkforyou • . . . . #leverage #martineztools #nailbar #pry #carpenter #carpentry #woodworking #worksmarternotharder #woodworker #woodwork #framer #framing #framersareadyingbreed #buildersofinsta #bluecollar #construction #framersofig #roughframing (at Chilliwack, British Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwLVOmug0Cy/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=9saa7sujtn9x
#simpletipsunday drill a 3/16” hole and pound two 3” gun nails in. Coil, strip, paper or wire collated, they all work though I have found it easier with the strip nails. Tie wire and a hand spike works too but the wire is not always available where and when I need it. #tips #tricks #fasteners #ihopethishelps • . . . . . #carpenter #carpentry #woodworking #woodworker #woodwork #framer #framing #framersareadyingbreed #buildersofinsta #bluecollar #construction #framersofig #roughframing (at Langley, British Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo7DP_dAWr8/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=2eyegr3vsd0y

#simpletipsunday for the #framermasqueradingasafinishcarpenter on #Monday because #longweekend. • When working with MDF I always seal my cut exposed edges with a 1:2 (ish) glue & water mix. This allows an even finish. Without, those edges will continually absorb whatever primer or finish is applied. #ihopethishelps #mdf #finish • . . . . #paint #sideworksaturday #byronbuilds #renovate #remodel #renovation #homeimprovement #millwork #tools #finishcarpenter #interior #finecarpentry #home #finishcarpentry #homerenovation #carpenter #carpentry #woodworking #woodworker #woodwork (at Chilliwack, British Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BosFlkoAxVo/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=uhatkj53ruj9
