Joined Mdm Tia @tiastudio , and the @sutdsg students at their Sketchwalk this morning, at Boat Quay, along our glorious Singapore River this morning. This is arguably my favorite scene in SG. What a nostalgic morning sketching the place where I spent a lot of time at as a child... the white 9-storey block above People’s Park Complex was my auntie’s old place. Not much has changed structurally in the area; just that today’s People’s Park has a more international vibe as most of the food and services businesses obviously are more aimed at Chinese foreigners living in Singapore. My piece from our I Jio You Sketchwalk at Tras Link Park yesterday. The colorful installation art (called A-Maze) in the middle of the park is currently displaying the blown-up paintings of 5 of our sketchers (including mine), and will be there till Dec 2020. Chose this vantage point cos I love how it captures everything in one small area in the heart of Downtown: commercial buildings, green spaces, art installations, and residential buildings... all at once. Enjoyed a really full but fulfilling Sat morning... Hung out with Jac over brekkie at Circuit Road (sent her to class) before heading down to Lau Pa Sat for I Jio You sketchwalk. Ordered a kopi-roti-egg set mainly to sketch it (left the roti alone cos Keto) before joining others across street to LPS from the outside. Bought lunch for kids and headed home, and touched up the sketches while waiting for a Zoom call with some USk Chapter Leaders to set up the program for the Virtual Sketch Meet tomoro.
