I’ve been visiting family for the last week, which has been stressful and emotional. I hadn’t gone anywhere with a mobile recording rig in a long time, and I’m really glad I packed up my kit. This was standard issue for me once upon a time — this mando gig bag, filled with a different mandolin, once traveled to Spain and Scotland.
Spent a little time today working on a loop, nothing amazing, but enough to help me channel this sad energy in the right direction.
The setup is basic: the surprisingly fantastic iRig HD2 condenser microphone plugged into my iPad, using Garageband. Sennheiser headphones. An obnoxious JBL bluetooth speaker. There’s also iRig2 adapter for the guitar in the Shure sleeve, but I haven’t bothered pulling out any of my dad’s guitars.
