I’m feeling the Fall/Thanksgiving vibes. Even though the husband and I are not doing anything this year except some video calls I’m ready for the holiday season. I’ve been asked quite a bit recently why I’m making so many masks, if I’m selling them, and if not what am I doing with them. Nope, I’m not selling them. Or at least I’m trying not too. They have mostly all gone to family, friends, and coworkers. When I have had some extra from a batch I have hung them on our condos notice board for neighbors. For the people that wouldn’t give in and did pay me, that money went to buy elastic and wire. I honestly don’t feel comfortable making these for profit. For one, I know people need them and can’t necessarily make them themselves. For another, knowing they aren’t going to be the same amount of protection as a proper manufactured mask makes me uncomfortable taking payments for them. Parts of today almost felt normal. The weather is nice so the windows have been open. While I was pinning this elastic it felt like a calm weekend where I’ve chosen to craft away the day. I think I’m just going to enjoy this calm feeling while it lasts and not over analyze it. While I feel like I’m not making progress fast enough, I did stop and take a bit of time for myself today. I also finally managed I make the husband a mask that fits. I swear I’ve gone through like 6 versions for him.
