ILL OMENS: ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE STARS?
Ill Omens is a 17+ Warrior Cats roleplay hosted over Discord. It follows the story of twin clans: Ridgeclan and Gorgeclan, as they find themselves locked in a seemingly eternal struggle against each other, and the mysterious supernatural force they are supposed to be able to trust above all else, Starclan.
Unlike most other iterations of StarClan, in Ill Omens it isn't much of a peaceful cat afterlife. StarClan acts more like one hive-mind of cat spirits, rather than a "second life" where cats can freely watch over those down below and intervene as they please.
Cats who are newly deceased and have living, direct relatives have a bit of a stronger voice and presence. As time passes, however, a cat tends to lose what made them alive in the first place, and becomes one of the many hundreds of Whispers of StarClan. To die is to lose yourself entirely. To one cat, this may be seen as an honor, becoming apart of something so much larger than yourself. But to another, it's nothing but a cause for existential terror.
In addition to this, rather than being a rarely acting and mostly benevolent force, Starclan has… changed. It's suddenly began to send numerous prophecies of questionable authenticity to warriors and medicine cats alike. No one knows whether or not to believe any of these prophecies, but the clans have taken their stances--
Gorgeclan. After the disastrous and traumatic reign of their previous leader, Heartstar, Gorgeclan as a whole have turned their backs on Starclan and refuse to listen to these new prophecies at all. They shun their ancestors and rarely look to them for guidance.
Ridgeclan. This clan is steadfastly devout to their ancestors, believing that Starclan's word is, and will always be, their will. They have gone so far as to add a new addition to their warrior code stating that to go against Starclan is to go against the code itself.
APPLICATIONS FOR RIDGECLAN AND GORGECLAN ARE OPEN!
You will be able to adopt a character that already has ties and some loose history in their clan in order to create easy integration for new roleplayers. References and short backstory descriptions can be found on the application sheet itself. Changes such as AFAB/AMAB, sexuality, gender, and backstory can be made in-RP.
