“Wish Maiden” - oil on board, 21”x27” Excited to reveal a new piece to you, for sale and headed to #illuxcon2019 this year! This one is heavily inspired by my time in Iceland, and the mythic fertility of the landscape and people there. Known also as Wish Maidens, Valkyries crop up continually in the sagas as women of power, witches, warriors, omen bearers and death harbingers... Here a Wish Maiden alights above Aldeyjarfoss, a terrifying and beautiful falls I visited in the north where the basalt formations form a great shattered wall.
