Merimerkki reverse AU, with Ilmari as a young fisherman/sailor, and Simo as a merman. A merman so full of salt, the day he comes out of the sea, its salinity drops by half.

A little fanart (+some close-ups) for beloved @littleladypunk, with her most adorable characters, Simo and Ilmarei from “Merimerkki” webcomic: LINK

I hope you will like it dear :) I wish you all the strenght with continuing that title, and I am SO looking forward to the next chapter, whenever it gets uploaded. Btw, I apologise for taking artistic liberty with Ilmarei’s design - I know his tail is supposed to be shorter, but... I remember you saying the concepts are old and you might redesign him, and, you know... loooong taaaillls *u* They are fun to draw!

Also, here’s a bonus afterscene :D

Besides, it’s just a small bite” *Some Sea Thug that attacked their boat, ate herrings they were fishing for, bit the mr merman and shredded the hat, nasty beast”

Ilmarei might be as strong as a sea lion, and have a body designed for withstanding deep sea pressures capable of crushing submarines, but that doesn’t mean the old man can’t be worried about him :P.

I wasn’t exactly done with processing my feels for Simo & Ilmari after the last artwork, specifically because it lacked the right amount of fluff I needed get out of my system to be satisfied. So there. A kiss. From two perspectives, cause I couldn’t decide on just one composition. @littleladypunk/ @llp-reblog, I hope you don’t mind :) It’s your fault for making characters that fit right into my type :D
