What a huge shift! . Can we all agree that life hasn’t been boring in 2020? We get to witness one of the biggest pivots that this planet and all its people have ever been through. . Did any of you have any idea how our lives were going to be turned completely upside-down? . If you are an inquisitive and curios human like me and you research, validate and check your sources, you are probably aware that people historically do not do well with change. We are creatures of habit. We all see this play out in simple as well as complex things. . OMGish! We all have to wash our hands often now, wear masks, avoid gatherings, gyms closed, and stop hugging. Eeek! We are such spoiled brats, right? Oops! I will stop generalizing. Your next door neighbor has that entitled mindset and just wants to go back to the way everything was before March. . If you know me very well, I am extremely adaptable, embrace change, dive deep and fast toward new challenges. So, I’m not surprised that I’m growing, learning, and thriving in the pivot of the century. . I’m super excited about the economic and paradigm shift into virtual business models. I heard that huge corporations are liking this new normal. I remember when “telecommuting” was hard to pronounce even when I was in meetings about dark fiber infrastructure implementation in cities all across Western Washington. I wonder if a lot of the dark fiber will get lit-up in the next 24 months with all of us hogging bandwidth like toilet paper on store shelves. Funny not funny. . We used to blame the gamers—well, they are still a big reason for congested and over-subscribed networks of telco providers. We are all driving both directions on a narrow one-lane information superhighway and gridlocked and on “DSL-over-copper” (high-speed dial-up) in Wapato. Doh! 🤦🏾‍♀️ Thank goodness that’s temporary. .
