The Muppets : Most Wanted
My brother, Francis, is my closest sibling in age. Growing up we were huge fans of the Muppets. Our favorite was "Muppets from Space". An amazing story of Gonzo discovering his true self, as an alien. The movie was about accepting yourself and that even if you are an alien, you still have people or muppets that love you. It's a heart-warming story.
In 2011, The Muppets was released. and what a fantastical amazing magical adventure it was. It's the story of Walter ( a Puppet) who grew up w a human family, but didn't quite fit in. He discovers the Muppets and while the Muppets rescued Walter out of his loneliness growing up; years later Walter helps to rescue the Muppets by helping them reunite and remember the glory days. When Walter joined the Muppets it felt like you were officially joining the Muppets. Also an incredible soundtrack.
Now just a few days ago, Muppets: Most wanted was released. I was so excited to see it, assuming it would be exactly just as fun as it was 3 years ago. Now the first time I saw it (and yes I saw it opening day and the next day) I was not overly thrilled. I liked some parts, but it just wasn't the same. But I think I had a different idea of what a Muppet movie was. This was like Mission Impossible Meets the Muppets. It was also a bit sad to see Kermit in jail, even though it was because he was framed, it was still sad.
The next day I went to see it again and oddly enough I LOVED IT the second time. It was a great film, sure it was no The Muppets, but they can't add an out of luck puppet into the Muppets every time. I thought it was different, like I said Mission Impossible meets the Muppets. But not everything different is bad.
With that said, I love the Muppets and it would be hard for them to really disappoint me enough to stop liking them. Also the soundtrack is pretty great ;)
