kingslayin:
The young king sat on the Iron throne as if he had been born on it, both hands on the rests with daggers inbetween his fingers, his chin held high. A lesser man would have said he looked down upon the court in contempt, but the people he ruled knew that he was a just and benevolent king. A great yellow lion sat at his feet, its mane a deep ebony that matched the colour of iron. His father, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, Ser Jaime Lannister, stood beside the throne, left hand on the pommel of his sword, keeping a watchful eye. While Ser Jaime stood by the King’s left, Lord Petyr Baelish stood on the King’s right, Master of Coin and Hand of the King. Both men had aged gracefully over the years - perhaps Lord Baelish more so than Ser Jaime. Where Lord Balish’s wings of white at his temples had expanded across the rest of his hair, Ser Jaime’s short cropped hair could not hide his receding hairline, though he kept a clean cut beard that added to his authoritative air. In the years after King Tommen had come into his throne, Ser Jaime took more and more after his father, becoming shrewd and calculated, though retaining some of his charming nature.
