I’m not sure how to describe this fanfiction. What I can say is that it matters deeply to me. I haven’t felt this connected to something I’ve written in a long time (which... might not actually be a good thing lol).

Anyway. It's DONE!

Summary:

He has never seen so many stars. Not in all his life. They crowd the sky until it seems too full, until he feels he might drown just looking. Each one glimmers with its own colour—gold, blue, pale violet—like jewels scattered by some careless hand. The peaks of the mountains frame it all, their crowns washed in moonlight, glowing faintly as if the snow itself carried fire. And when, once, a star streaks across the dark and vanishes into nothing, he almost reaches for it, stupidly, like a boy. It is beautiful, unbearably so. And still, each time, his throat closes, and something in his belly twists, because that vastness feels too much for him—it presses down, threatens to spill over, and he doesn’t know where to put it.

But Felassan reaches out, as always, to break the silence. He points upward with that careless certainty of his. “See that?” His finger hovers in the dark. “That’s the unicorn constellation.”

And Solas believes him. Of course he does. He squints, and for a moment he convinces himself he sees it: a horse traced in diamonds, rearing in the sky. His chest swells with wonder—and then Felassan flicks him on the temple, sniggering, and calls him “idiot.”

It is fucked up how much I think about what's going to happen next in MLT, how exactly it is all going to play out. I know it will be perfect because it will be your writing and your writing is never anything but that. BUT I AM THINKING ABOUT IT TOO MUCH. I need to stop! I MUST STOP LOL

I've been really excited to get to this next phase of pen & frankie's relationship for a while (which we'll start to see in the next chapter) and I really hope you like it. plus we're gonna meet little nora! see girl!dad frankie in action for a minute! but you know, mostly we'll be spending time with pen & the pilot as they get to know each other as adults who still find themselves drawn to each other.
