hey pals! a little life update under the cut!

so, long story short, my mom is...... very sick. we’re hoping for the best as there are signs it’s not all that bad, but it’s a long journey ahead. covid is also just.... rampaging through my area and the hospital i work at right now. i’m vaxxed and wear my mask everywhere, but a few of my co-workers have tested positive. we’re understaffed and are essentially around 150 patients to one monitor tech right now. i was supposed to go home for christmas, but with my mom being sick, i don’t want to put her at any unneccesary risk. i’m going to get tested either tomorrow or saturday and hopefully i’ll be able to go home.

i’ve already worked over 100 hours in the last two weeks. working in healthcare is exhausting right now and i appreciate all of you who have been very patient with me. i know i don’t owe any apologies, but perhaps a bit more of an explanation for my absence instead!

i hope you’re all well, please continue to wear your masks and get vaxxed if you can. i love you all sm and i’ll hopefully be able to do some writing this coming week!
