Sukuna All-Out!: A Short Series Dedicated to Sukuna, Yorozu, and Higuruma's Connections

For the sake of simplicity, I want this post to work as an introduction. Starting this large topic off with a short, introductory post allows me to outline my ideas for the readers' ease in a palatable length.

I plan to make a (short) series of posts that detail the subtextual connection that Sukuna, Yorozu, and Higuruma all share. By linking Jujutsu Kaisen to Godzilla, I'll argue why I believe Higuruma exists in the story, and even why Gege needed Sukuna to kill him the way he did.

Yorozu's love for Sukuna will play an important role in explaining Sukuna's connection to Godzilla, and therefore her connection to Mothra. Then, after showing the significance of the connection between the previously mentioned characters, Higuruma's importance as a symbol of Japanese law will be better contextualized. Finally, Higuruma's swift and dismissive defeat will reveal Gege's suggested opinions about Japan's bureaucratic government.

so! i’m alive!!!!! full disclosure i really thought i was gonna keep my break on for a few more days. then that bonkers atp video released and, despite not having thought of tumblr for the past two weeks, my first thought was oh my god i need to know what my tennisblr friends think about this. and that’s when i knew i was ready to go back, because i’ve finally begun associating this space with people i care about again instead of all the negative parts that got me to leave.

my tumblr break was the right choice for me. like full stop. i’ve been able to reevaluate my priorities and calm down my anxiety without it. plus it’s helped me fix my productivity schedule and i do think i’m better off for it. with family, friends, uni, personal hobbies, everything. so yeah, mentally i’m doing much much better and i wanna thank everyone who gave kind words and helped me through this!

and yeah that’s all i have to say really. i’ll try not to let this all get to my head next time and remember that i can always step back whenever i need it. i hope you guys are doing alright too. all the love!!!!! <3

hello hello it’s time for the show.

it’s me again, sofia. i also play virginia kennedy! this here is my second muse, and her name is arden chae, and boy does she have one heck of a backstory. truthfully though, i feel like if i even tried to explain it, i would absolutely explain it wrong. the only parts of it that i know i’ll get right are the fact that she was born into a craaaazy strict cult. she was brought up to worship these three dudes who thought that they were like...prophets or something. either way, they’re super bad people. 

arden, as a child, was pulled out of school after like...the fourth grade and was forced to learn how to do the “womanly” things around the house, like cook and clean and care for children. however, that was never enough for arden. she would constantly sneak around and teach herself the information that the cult would teach the little boys, and kept up with all her chores at the same time. bruh if she’d ever been found out she would have been in sooooooooo much trouble. 

she was 15 years old when she finally had enough. it was after her father had given her a list of “suitable mates” for her to choose from of guys that were like 10-15 years older than she was and honestly arden was like ‘HELL NAH’ and banded together with jinsoul and kathy in order to escape. she was the youngest of the three. ever since the three of them freed themselves, they’ve been going back to help break out more people. it’s....insanely risky. if they get caught, bad shit would happen to them. but arden doesn’t care. she doesn’t want people to end up as mindless slaves just because they didn’t know any better.

this is what brings me to discuss her secret! about 2 years ago, when on a trip to go and rescue more people from the cult, arden got caught. in order to make sure she and those that she rescued were able to make it out, she had to kill the man who caught them. that man just so happened to be her father. no one but her knows about this.

so!! with that dark stuff out of the way, let’s get into arden as a person! she’s a very courageous girl that is always willing to put others before herself. like, she’d be the person to push you out of the way of a moving train and get hit herself. she takes selfless to a whole new level. she’s also really, really smart. no one would guess that she had to teach herself everything she knows. they’d assume she got the same education as everyone else. right now, she’s studying at florence community college as a law student and working as a full time waitress at a local restaurant to help keep her pay of the rent of the home that she shares with those she’s helped rescue from the cult. she is a pretty no-nonsense kinda gal, but if you manage to convince her to let loose, then you’re in for a fun night. she’s definitely the kinda girl you’d want as a friend, even if she might be a liiiiittle too over protective.
