Playing through the revamped visuals feels like I’m playing Ultrakill for the the first time again and I could Not Be Happier.

They did such a good fucking job with the updated looks, here's my various short thoughs:

Prelude’s lighting is absolutely breathtaking now, the fact that it’s taken on more of an orange yellow color pallet was suuuch a good choice. and the mini tutorial is a lot more helpful!

Limbo’s updated Landscape really sells that Truman Show feeling of being stuck in a picturesque theatre, and the Clair de Lune level has been heightened like fucking Crazy. That chromatically abberated starry sky had me feeling pure awe.

Lust feels so much more like a welcoming city just starting to bloom but was evidently shut down and cleared out after the death of minos- and that updated skyline first being under you in the earlier levels, and then Over you during the corpse of minos bossfight is INSANELY cool.

Gluttony is so WET. and the visible heat emanating from the walls and bile of the place; really add to the claustrophobic feeling of wriggling your way through someones organs. I adore that fact that in some parts it feels like you're sliding through the veins.

Greed's updated sand texture do a much better job at conveying the fact that the sand is Actually Gold. And again the lighting changes really heighten the levels, like 4-3's big spinning green room and 4-4 In General.

Wrath is INSANE. I'm a big fan of the water's light reflection on the wall in the 5-1, and not to mention just the Entirety of 5-2. The updated rain, the lighthouse actually having a Light, the fact that you can see waves crash, and all the extra little details added to the level was such a joy to experience. As were 5-3 for its gorgeous new layout and new statues/that I'm frankly obsessed with. The biggest deal to me out of that layer though is the overhaul of the Leviathan bossfight; before it was to me the most lackluster fight despite it being one of the first bosses in the game where you fought a large monster- but the rework really did it justice.

Heresy looks so much more Unforgiving than before- blood red water being replaced with piles of skulls, literal coffins of fire that you hear screams from, Everything screams Hatred. Besides Gabriel himself that is, with his Massive Organ being bathed in red, and surrounded by candles. genuinely some of my favorite level rework!

Violence, as always, Is amazing. I expected it not to change much, and as far as I've noticed, it hasn't- but where it Did change were major improvements. The most Notable being 7-3 and 7-4, 7-3 with the text sprawling across the screen when you find the first blood tree, and 7-4 for just how much more Stuck the Earthmover seems to be. Anchored to Hell and forced to continue an endless cycle of war. It makes It's new death animation all the more tragic in a sense, watching it burst and burn into flames, and watching the blood shower around you.

Thinking abt how each and every show gerard reaches out to the audience for help but like. Its all just part of the play so nobody helps. Like we could save them but its all part of the show so everybody just cheers. CAN ANYBODY SEE ME. YOURE ALL LOOKING BUT CAN ANYBODY SEE ME.
