She felt slightly guilty about it. After all, Regina was pretty sure ‘reading the diary of the person you co-parent with’ went against some kind of unsaid social rule.

Yet, the chance that Emma had written about her, had somewhere expressed how exactly she felt about Regina- (was she just Henry’s mom? Her ex-enemy? An ally? A friend?)- drew her in. She had to know.

or, Regina can’t figure out what she is to Emma. She reads the Savior’s diary to find her answer- and, maybe, to understand the woman who had single handedly changed her life yet was still a mystery to her at times.
