sometimes I just Think about veronica sawyer. one of my most underrated blorbos you could follow me for years and not even realize she makes the list tbh but the obsession just lies dormant it doesn’t disappear. a girl who feels so alienated and alone and different from everyone else sees a boy who also has those feelings but responds to them by lashing out, who may be ostracized socially but has developed a way to express power, and clings to him. she lets herself get swept up in his downward spiral because she can feel safe when she’s on this side of it— heather(s) and ram/kurt make her the victim when they exercise their power but here’s a boy who’s willing to do the opposite, to make her the queen in whose name he drops the guillotine.

just. woof. the two binaries of the power fantasy: I am the victim (always) or I am the victor (always) collapsed into one. in a story about how everyone is a little bit of both always.
