As a kid I never liked my name. And it always felt nice when people said “well, you don’t look like a [deadname].” When I came out as trans and got to choose my own name it felt amazing. People still say “yeah, you seem like an Alex.” and it’s weirdly the most validating thing for me and makes me feel so happy.
