8 - my last night out in detail

im not sure exactly what a night out means (is it just a night spent out of my specific house or is it a night spent out in the city?) so im gonna give you two stories with half the detail for each

a - the one where i was just out of my house

halloween night, i went to my friend’s house with 5 other people (they + my friend had a clue cosplay i wasn’t part of bc im not that invested in clue). we played a thing called spaceteam (it didnt turn out well) and had some dinner, all with interruptions to go give tiny trick-or-treaters candy, then went upstairs and played Just Dance (i danced Moskau and YMCA & did so fantastically). after that we watched the halloween eps of community and brooklyn nine nine and i got home around 12:30

b - the one where i spent the night walking around Toronto

an event called Nuit Blanche, with various art exhibits around the city & all businesses open til 7AM

we bought a ttc group pass (that i kept at the end bc it was pretty) & started out at nathan phillips square where someone fell into the giant pool, then went to the forest stationed in the underground garage, then to this cool sound pyramid exhibit (ppl sing/play in front of a microphone and the mighty pyramids distort the sound; it all sounds like a sick soundtrack to a movie i wish i could watch)

after a tim hortons break we went to an indoors exhibit at TIFF where we were part of a video game thanks to motion detecting cameras, then im p sure some people had to go home but we walked around some more (found a cool thing where buildings were projected onto another building, and would crash down and build up again over and over) until we found a pizza pizza & around 2AM finally went home

10 - something i’ve lied about

i made the mistake of misreading a hiring party’s time as 8PM instead of the actual 8AM, but lied to my parents about having been there anyway bc i dont like explaining things 

i was aided by toronto’s shitty public transit network that shut down 8 subway stations for the weekend, forcing everyone to stay on overcrowded & slow shuttle buses, which made getting to the place & back take an extra 40 minutes (the imaginary duration of the hiring thing i never attended)
