So I saw your OC Sirius Marrell (great art BTW) and wondered if you were aware of Sirius from the Amory Wars universe? The concept is eerily similar lol (And if you don't know about Amory Wars, it's a crazy awesome sci-fi story based on Coheed & Cambria's concept albums)

I just read up on it because I was not in fact familiar with the Amory Wars and well, the name happens to be the same [His mother named him Sirius because of the star] and beyond that the smiliarity of traveling to a mysterious energy in space is all I can see. 

Unless that other dude also ends up as an intergalactic prophet of peace and in a gay relationship with a 7foot tall alien. If that’s the case I’m very interested.

So I'm rereading the Two McClains and I can't help but imagine Lance and Keith as the space counterparts to Goodnight Robicheaux and Billy Rocks in Magnificent Seven (who I LOVE) thanks to your perfect imagery and characterization.

AH, that is so cool! *blushes* D Thank you! I’m thinking of watching the most recent version of The Magnificent Seven and seeing how it goes. It’s been years since I watched the 1960s version. And I have the Seven Samurai on my list as well, since I’ve never seen the movie it was originally based on :D But wow, I’m so happy with that comparison, holy crap, thanks so much! *more blushing*

Microfic idea: Allura and Coran, with Coran feeling parental/protective!

Allura spreads her arms wide, her voice raising in passion and volume as she speaks to the assembled natives.  From behind, the wind whips her words, making them hard to hear, but either her audience doesn’t have that problem (probable: this is their home, after all) or it doesn’t matter.  The tone and having the princess and her castle there is enough to make them excited.

It makes Coran think of court meetings Allura used to have as a young girl, speaking with more excitement than understanding as she ordered her stuffed animals and made decisions about their imaginary kingdom as practice for her own.

Coran’s lips twitch, but otherwise he keeps his expression calm and neutral as Allura speaks.

Alfor had nearly teared up the first time he saw Allura playing queen, and he’d told everyone he could in the castle about what a great ruler she’d be.

He had been right.

Coran couldn’t be prouder.

I love The Great Wave by Hokusai - it was painted as a mural in the back of my favorite classroom in high school, and I’ve seen it in person at the MET. I guess I feel like I have a personal connection to it, and oceans in general are something that mean a lot to me.
