First Line Challenge

The wonderful @lolahardy tagged me in this and I just need to point out that I haven’t written anything other than essays and reports for my post-grad diploma in about a year... So I have scoured my drive for something recent-ish which means you all get to see the literal first line of my original fic/story/something that has a bunch of words.

So, the rules/guidelines are as follows: post the first line of one of your WIPs and tag as many people are there are words.

Anyway, original thing that I’m working on: Everyone knew Prince Beckett was dead.

HA! For once I have a short first sentence. Look at that! 6 words. So, as always, the people I tag are not under any obligation to post anything. Just know that I’m thinking of you and any creative pursuits you have going at the moment.

Inception watch parties are coming soon!  We’ll be playing Bingo at 3 watch parties on Friday 19th July!

The watch parties will be held in the #watch_party channel in Slack and Discord.  (Not a member?  Just ask for an invite when you request your card!)

There will be prizes!!! Depending on the number of prizes available, we will have a 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Bingo winner for each party (9 prizes in total).  Prizes will be announced at a later date.  If you would like to donate anything, fic, art, crafts, interpretive dance, please contact brookebond.

Bingo Rules & Instructions:

You may only play 1 card.

You may only play during 1 chat time.

1 prize per winner.

We’ll be playing blackout bingo, which means that A Bingo is made when all boxes are checked off on your card

Once you have a full card, post BINGO! in the chat & verify that the Bingo Master for that game saw your bingo post.

If you are the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th place Bingo caller in a chat, send an email to [email protected] with your Slack name for verification (only the top 3 people per chat get a prize but we’ll take 4 names in case someone filled their card incorrectly).

Once your card is verified by the Bingo Master, you’ll get a confirmation email back.

I almost forgot your birthday. I'm sure that doesn't come as a surprise, it shouldn't, really. But I remembered, in the end. I desperately wish we could have celebrated together, lazing around in your flat like we used to. I remember those days vividly, the image of you naked in a strip of sunlight as it streamed through the parted curtains is something I will never forget for the rest of my days. Things have been moving along over here smoothly for once, each day running into the next.  I'm not sure which birthday it is but... Happy Birthday, Q.

I’m not dead!

I think I forgot to mention on here that I’m studying full-time this year and it’s kind of taken over my life. I don’t know how anyone manages to write anything and study at the same time. Though... I am working 25 hours a week on top of my study so I don’t feel like I’ve had much of a life.

However, I am still alive and kicking! And totally ready to destroy some hearts this July. I promise to super glue them all back together at the end, though. Pinky promise.

I think everything I own is soaked and I'm not sure I'll ever get dry again but I suppose it's par for the course.  We both know I don't deserve good things. You were by far the best thing I've ever had the pleasure of being near. It was always only a matter of time before
