Baz is currently having way too much fun splashing water at Mickey, who has been trying to wash the soap off her body for the last five minutes. "Quit fuckin' around Baz," says Mickey, smiling as he wipes some water from his chin.

"And quit smiling that stupid fuckin' smile at me while I'm drenched in soap water, Gallagher."

Ian continues smiling that stupid fuckin' smile as he stands at the door and watches Mickey give a bath to their dog while wearing one of Ian's old sleeveless shirts and shorts. Mickey's got water running down his arms and his hair is plastered to his forehead, and Ian thinks he's absolutely justified in smiling stupidly at his cute husband.

He takes his phone out because he can't not take a picture of this and Mickey immediately begins saying, "Bitch if you post this on Instagram, I'll-"

"Relax, you look hot so these are just for me; can't have random guys try and send you a follow request like the last time I posted your hot photo.'

Mickey smirked as he helped Baz (now finally soap free) out of the tub and started drying her off.

"Yeah because random guys will look at me looking like a wet rat and immediately want to get into my pants. Are you listening to this Bazooka? You think your dad's too jealous?"

Baz immediately shakes her head.

"No? You're on his side, huh? Traitor."

"That's my girl," Ian laughs and leans down to hand Mickey his phone and take the towel from his hand to finish drying her off. Baz immediately climbs onto his lap cause that's been her favourite spot lately and nuzzles her head into his palm for ear rubs.

"We both know your dad's the jealous one here, isn't he?" Baz nods her head yes (partly because she agrees and partly because she wants Ian to continue giving her ear rubs).

He looks over to see Mickey smiling fondly at them; teases, "Smiling that stupid fuckin' smile at me, Milkovich?"

Mickey's only response is showing him a middle finger and pulling Ian's phone up to take pictures of the three of them (though it takes them several tries to get it right because Baz keeps trying to boop her own self on the screen).

And those definitely get posted on Instagram.

jealous headcanon

inspired by the scene in 11x11, mickey sees ian at their apartment complex's gym talking to ripped airpods dude (or another conventionally attractive man) and he gets all flustered. mickey starts asking ian questions like, "what's his name?" or "how long have you two known each other?" which instantly gives away his feelings, but ian absolutely revels in mickey's jealously, so he just watches him move his weight from foot to foot and do his little nose flick tick with an incredulous grin on his face 😭😭😭😭

ahhhh thank you!!! and honestly i have a fairly simple colouring process. this isn’t a tutorial tutorial because i’m not showing you my exact settings but i’ll be showing you why i use certain adjustments using this gif from the set i just posted as an example:

so i always begin by brightening my gif. lately i’ve been loving Exposure. i used to use levels but i think exposure retains the quality of the gif better. this is what my gif looked like after adding exposure:

the next step involves Hue/Saturation and it’s something i’ve only started doing this year thanks to gabbi’s colouring tutorial. as she says in her tutorial, all you do is reduce the saturation of the Reds. this is extremely useful in separating the subject from the background. here’s what my gif looks like after doing this step:

even though it’s a slight difference, it makes the next step easier for me! so i normally like separating the subject from the background even further by using one of my favourite adjustments ever: Colour Balance. of course it depends on the scene you’re colouring but i find i’m almost always having to make my subject less warm. to do that, i really only focus on the ‘Highlights’ settings and move the pointers (pointers? you know what i mean) towards cyan and towards blue e.g.

if you were trying to make your gif more warm then you’d move the pointers towards red/yellow. this is what my gif looked like after using colour balance:

now i feel like i’ve successfully separated the subject from the background! woohoo! which means it’s so much easier for me to alter the background colour! for this particular gifset i wanted yellow to be the prominent colour. as you can see, my gif’s background looks quite orange. so all i did was use another Hue/Saturation layer to change this. 

and voila! notice how the colour of gus’ face didn’t alter along with the background? you can thank our first layer of hue/saturation and also colour balance for that. 

what i normally like to do next is make the background colour more vibrant. to do that i use Selective Colour (e.g., Yellows > Yellow > +100). this is what my gif looked like after using a couple selective colour layers:

finally, i like to finish up with a black and white Gradient Map set to either soft light or luminosity. i like doing this because it adds a bit of contrast to the gif without being as harsh as brightness/contrast. for this gif, i used luminosity and lowered the opacity a bit and this is what the final gif looked like:

the last few steps are easy if you’ve nailed the most essential adjustments which, imo, are hue/saturation and colour balance!!! like this is what my gif would’ve looked like had i not used those two layers:

normally i would use vibrance but i’ve been trying to not use it lately. hope this not-a-tutorial-but-kind-of-actually-a-tutorial helps you!
