“How to reach your Future Career in –One- Step”

Let me tell you a little about myself

 Once there was an Egyptian girl called Mahinour, that's me. I’m a University graduate with Bachelor’s degree.

Everyday, After my graduation I went through what most of us graduated go through, the indecisiveness and being lost about what we’re going to do now, it’s like we’re fish born and grown in a tank and suddenly put in the ocean to swim and find our own way.

 So, I put my head up and started my clumsy journey towards different careers, corporates and work places. As many graduates do I joined a call center company planning to have a career in the field, but soon after I realized that it’s not my thing, I’ve tried many more different jobs and tracks.

UNTILL one day, COVID-19 has hit us. It was a tragic period most people lost their jobs including me, but in those hard times that comes new opportunities with new Hope.

Because of that, Freelancing and online jobs were the trend after COVID crisis, people starting rushing towards these jobs, also digital based jobs became the most potential and most demanded jobs worldwide, many influencers posted about online working with different companies and people from different countries and getting paid in Dollar while they’re sitting in their homes just using their laptops and internet.

It was the future calling on me, this is the new era, a new beginning with a new world to explore, so I started an account on freelancing websites, but to my shock it wasn’t as easy as it seemed as I had no one to guide me, no one to tell me what to do, I was devastated and nearly lost Hope.

Until then, I found an ad about a scholarship fully funded and online through one of the greatest online platforms Udacity, It was called “Future Work is Digital” and with the cherry on top, totally ONLINE, it was like a gift to me all the features I’ve wanted in one place.

Ever since then,  I started taking lesson after lesson. It was my first time ever to apply for a scholarship, and to my shock the application was very easy, the classroom was handy and clear, there was a community where you could connect with mentors and gurus in your field, it was the whole package.

My specialty is Digital Marketing, it’s one of the most wanted jobs nowadays. I’ve learned so much from the program while having fun learning.

So I encourage everyone who’s looking for a potential career to start, who’s tired from full-time jobs, who wants work/life balance, who wants to work from home to apply for the program.

Trust me, it’s the chance of a lifetime, you won’t regret it.

There was a time when I felt that life was just going down hill for me and my only goals were to have financial stability and the freedom to do what I love. That thing that I love is making digital content that relates to the everyday person going through life trying to figure things out. As much as I want to make compelling content two things stand in my way time & money. Five days a week like a majority of the world I wake up much earlier than i’d like too and uncomfortably commute to place that gives me a feeling of disease for long hours which usually continued after getting home, until one day in my routine of watching YouTube content something unexpected happened. A young ladies thumbnail stood out from the other videos. It said “ I have some good news for those who want to change their careers”. So I watched the video and the offer was Udacity’s Digital Marketing Nano Degree Program (DMND) in collaboration with One Ten Organization. So what did I do next? I applied! I got accepted and I've recently started the program. Since I've started the course I've learned about the numerous career choices Digital Marketing has to offer and because I've been shown many digital marketing career choices I've decided that social media content analyst is the job for me. Now I'm on the journey to achieving that goal.😁

Digital Marketing learning Journey

In the beginning, I had some interest in studying digital marketing in the sense that I love social media platforms and spend a lot of time on them, and at the same time I am thinking about changing my field of work and I found myself here, I loved this field

But I had a problem, which was that in order to study and learn digital marketing, a comprehensive and accredited study was also documented

But unfortunately I found the prices of the courses very expensive and I did not have enough money to commit to studyin

and at the same time I have the passion to get started

But the question I always had is how and where do I start?

And by pure chance, a sponsored ad post on Facebook changes everything

A scholarship to study digital marketing for Egyptians supported by the Egyptian Ministry of Communications..not only that, but it was A free Udacity accredited and documented scholarship

Best online school This nanograde has three levels (challenge, Professional, advanced) and eventually awarded a certificate for each track .. So of course I immediately enrolled in. At first I didn’t

know what I am getting myself into. It was lot of new experiences.and i learned so much in challange Trakc about content creation, the different social media Platforms, freelancing, and many more of information. really It is amazing journey

In fact, I am very grateful to FWD Egypt, the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Udacity for making me a part of this program and I can hardly wait to learn more and more in Professional Track and then Advanced and more

before I set at home with coronavirus pandemic, I didn’t understand or imagine how i can get money again, oh i lost my job. And now I know that digital marketing is a highly required field.

a while ago, I got chance to choose digital marketing field as I’m graduate from faculty of mass communication. little did I know that I needed to be familiar with social media and email marketing to take over the new challenge at my life.

when I found out, I felt the need to take a course that would help me to learn what I need, that’s how I chose nanodegree.

For why I chose Udacity Digital Marketing Nanodegree?

1- LEARNING FOR FREE 

the nanodegree, supported by the Egyptian government, allow to take an amazing online free course.

2- LEARNING FROM HOME

Udacity help me to learn from home, at the time i could free, that i have kids, and this helped me to distance learning.

3- STUDY ANALYTICS

I know that metrics and analytics are two unique and special ways to measure your success as a digital marketer.

The number of users, or visitors, traffic , etc. are essential to test your work with users, I’m really learnt all about metrics and analytics from nanodegree online course.

4- ADD TO MY CV

Udacity is a name that company’s and people cannot ignore, and that’s why it will be add on my cv.

Why I joined the Digital Marketing Program?

In 2020, I had my first job and I was excited about it, the team was friendly, helpful, and supportive. On the other hand, I didn't like the routine tasks, and it was not good in terms of the income, it wasn't as expected, and at the same time, this work consumed all my time.

When the COVID-19 pandemic started I was engaged and preparing for my wedding, I had to work even less, and that had a significant impact on my small income. I had my wedding day on the 26th of July 2020, and that was when I recognized that marriage life is more complicated than I thought, and the liability is getting bigger the day after day.

I started to think - what should I do? How to improve the situation? I was thinking of getting a part-time job, starting a home business, or maybe freelancing. I decided to contact one of my friends as I know he owns a production company to see if they need a Digital Marketer Specialized in running campaigns for their clients.

The good news is he said they need someone to do that, but the bad news, it must be certified. Suddenly I remembered that Udacity is providing a nanodgree in Digital Marketing, and I was sure that it will be a great opportunity to enroll in it because I have joined other programs with them and I benefit from it a lot in finding my first job. I joined the program and started to work hard learning the skills required. And here I am a proud holder of nanodegree and my friend is introducing me to the first client!
