The whole idea that America doesn’t have enough room for immigrants will always annoy me as long as golf courses exist. Like, sorry kids, we have to separate you from your parents because some rich white old men want to use acres and acres of perfectly good land to hit around a tiny ball with a piece of metal
I’m done exams! University fuckin see ya later!
Happy Feast Day Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos
1819-1867 Feast Day: October 5 Patronage: against cancer Blessed Fr. Francis Xavier Seelos was beatified by Pope Saint John Paul II in 2000. Born in Germany, he was inspired to be a Redemptorist missionary priest in the U.S. to serve the German immigrants. At St. Philomena’s Parish in Pittsburgh, he was the assistant to St. John Neumann, who was his spiritual director and encouraged him to preach missions. Fr. Seelos lived a simple lifestyle, serving the poor and abandoned. He was called the “Cheerful Ascetic,” the “American Wonderworker,” the “Doctor of Souls,” for his intercession in healing bodies and souls. He was assigned to parishes in Detroit, Baltimore, and New Orleans, where he died from yellow fever contracted from caring for victims of the disease.

While just 0.14 percent of ICE detainees self-identified as LGBTQ in 2017, they reportedly accounted for 12 percent of sexual abuse and assault victims.
"Noelia, a Central American asylum seeker to the U.S., was released from a private U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Georgia last week after more than 6 months in detention.
Noelia, who declined to share his full name and exact country of origin for fear it may hurt his chances of asylum, said he fled his home country after being raped by members of a local gang and experiencing a general climate of homophobic hostility. However, since arriving in the U.S., Noelia has not found any respite from abuse. He described his experience in detention up to this point as 'horrible.'
Noelia self-identifies as a gay man and uses male pronouns with most people. In his asylum application, Noelia said, 'I identify as a gay man, because I am attracted to men, but I am also still trying to figure out my own gender identity.'
When asked how often Noelia experiences abuse and harassment in detention, he told NBC News, 'This is happening every day.'
...Based on a new report from the Center for American Progress, a public policy research and advocacy organization, Noelia’s experience is not unique. The report found that LGBTQ migrants in federal detention centers are 97 times more likely to be sexually assaulted than other detainees."

Sending Love to all my Muslim brothers and sisters you are important no matter where you are right now, and I and many like me won't stop fighting for you, and no one is an immigrant to America but a potential citizen we need you and don't let anyone tell you we don't.
The world is making me tired.
I hope you've been keeping warm. I think Jack Frost has been on Steroids in my neighborhood lately. I don't watch the news as much as I used to. It just irritates me. I see in New York City they are now giving illegal aliens 1000 dollar debit cards to use for food since they have complained about the food they've been getting. What in the world? We've got homeless Americans who need help and this is what's happening with taxpayer money. I'm not heartless, I'm just done with it. We've got thousands of folks just crossing our border and we're giving them cell phones and free housing. Not me. As they crossed the border I'd give each child a balloon and every adult a ten-dollar Starbucks Card and say "Good Luck". We are not a country of dreamers any longer. We need to let people know we are now a country of Doers. You come here, you better figure out what you can do to survive, and it better not be a crime. The days of us playing nice with that are coming to an end. I feel it coming. I could probably make a fortune selling a t-shirt that read, "I've had enough". I see it was announced that Transgender women can now box in the upcoming Olympics. It's going to be interesting to watch the female boxing match on TV with my son and decide if we're rooting for the one with the handlebar mustache or full beard. Priceless times.
“Mexican American designer Willy Chavarria's recent collections are a commentary on immigration. Pieces embroidered with the phrases "No Human Being Is Illegal" and "Authentic American" reflect the fear and alienation experienced by immigrants to the United States. The "Falling Stars" motif on this sweater from the designer's spring/summer 2019 collection presents a sense of hopelessness.” From In America: A Lexicon of Fashion at the Met Museum . . #willychavarria #america #americanflag #immigration #immagrants #metropolitanmuseumofart (at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeJa_-UOtNK/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
