“no, it’s ok, honestly.” seth is insisting, though he continues to simply push the food around his plate with the tip of his fork. “it’s probably better this way!” finally he skewers a bite of food, raising the contents up to inspect them before cautiously bringing it to his mouth. the immediate grimace can’t be ignored, and he had to fight not to gag as he reluctantly began chewing. “it’s really not that bad, it’s—” gag. “i think i like tomatoes now, they’re growing on me.”

“this was all a ploy huh? you just wanted to sleep with a cheerleader in the locker room. got some fantasy for it, huh?” scarlett knew that’s what they wanted, that’s why she brought the change of clothes with her. a new version of her uniform, some lingerie to go beneath, even a pair of heels. so it wasn’t exactly like she was actually upset when she came around the corner to reveal herself to them.

" delilah's asking , shaking her head at the other's words , arms crossed against her chest -- waiting for an answer , or anything , at this point . but god , she's tired of it all , the weird looks , mixed signals , she hates it . & she doesn't want it anymore . " answer me this , if you never belonged to me , then why the fuck are you still in my life ? " it seems like a rhetorical question , but she's trying to figure out what they are , what they haven't been . she needs this closure , whatever it is . whatever their feelings are , for her .

" how am i supposed to trust you when i don't even know what you do or where you live ? " it seems like she's reading into all of this , but she's trying her best at being reasonable . lani's never had to do all this work for someone if she didn't think they were worth it , that's the thing . " trust goes two ways , right ? help me trust you & i'll do the same , alright ? " she's hardly even asking for anything , nonetheless , she just wants something stable , that she knows would work , that's worth it in the end for her .

" you know , to be really honest with you , i think happily ever after's are overrated . " elias replies , wondering if that was too blunt , to the point where it would hurt their feelings . nonetheless , he had to say it , not to bash their intentions of him , but to be realistic . & lately , he's been oddly -- realistic . he's chewing on his lower lip , contemplating careful words , humming lightly . shifting in his posture before he's saying anything else , anything worthwhile , in fact . " i don't think that's for us . i think we're one of those people who are the right person , wrong time . or even the wrong person , right time . & that's not an excuse , i'm just . . . a disaster . i can't be capable of myself , much less anyone else .
