Protagonist x Immortal Man: I say unfortunately but I don’t mean it negatively. Unfortunately I’m not super invested in them as a ship. I think they look good together! I can’t deny that! However I am not a huge aesthetic based shipper. I just look at both at their characters and I’m just don’t have a lot to work with.
But I can also see that being the appeal too! They are both very open ended characters. I can see them in a domestic situation raising their adopted girls together. (The Immortal man’s canonical one and this would have to be post!cataclysm for Protag) I can see them being tragic, the Protag clearly recognizing Immortal man is a visitor but being too interested in him to kill him. I can see a light stalking situation where the Immortal Man is actually the one obsessed with Protag. Theres so much you can do with them.
I however need a bit more structure with my pairings. Going back to how they look I think they could be great in fanart together. Something something Protag fearfully staring down existentialism in the prospect of living forever something. They are kind of two sides of the same coin. The Immortal man believing he’ll live forever, and (in some endings) the Protagonist barely wanting to live a human lifespan.
