I'm closely affiliated with DWRP (as a person, not as a Nakoma blog); I play their Jane Porter, and I first began playing Nakoma way back when as a secondary blog for the group. Obviously Nakoma's left the group since then (mostly because nobody was really talking to her because/and she was a sideblog), but I still play Jane at DWRP.
Anyways, we've just had a rule change over at DWRP that should eliminate confusion in the future, but like most changes, it makes for some confusion in the immediate aftermath. So, here's what the deal over at DWRP is now:
You can roleplay with characters outside of the group IF they a) are not in your movie and b) are not already represented in the group at all.
BUT you can't RP with people outside of the group if they are in YOUR movie. Since presumably your most in-depth plots tend to HAPPEN with people in your own movie, this is supposed to decrease the instances of people RPing with indie character (X) from their own movie, only to find that someone has joined the group as that character (Y) and now X must be replaced by Y in the movieverse.
"But Cammy," you're saying, "I know you're in DWRP as Jane, but what does this have to do with your indie Nakoma?"
Well, as you may have noticed, a lot of my plots so far have been with Thomas, but the rule change means he can't RP with any Nakoma except for one that is in the group. Right now, DWRP has no Nakoma, and I could, hypothetically, change that by re-auditioning as her. But if I rejoined the group as Nakoma, I couldn't RP with Zoe or Kadee; although for example my threads with Kelsey (bc we have no Adam) and Kida (bc she's not IN Pocahontas) would be able to continue. But the fact that the bulk of my RP right now is with Thomas - among other things - is part of what gives me pause about staying independent.
I want to be honest with you guys. I'm more or less on the fence about whether or not to rejoin right now, but since my decision doesn't affect only me, I wanted to lay it all out for you BEFORE I decide what to do, because it isn't fair that I don't seek out the opinions and advice of the people I already RP with. Please let me know what you think!

Mattaquenatorath || Nakoma and Pocahontas
It wasn't often that Nakoma finished a chore, looked around and realized she had nothing else to do. The moment she stepped out of the house, one of her little sisters would begin to cry, or her little brothers might have torn each other's clothing, or Mother would ask her to help with dinner. Four hands worked faster than two, and so she didn't mind lifting some of her mother's burden onto her own back. Besides, it was all useful work, which she needed to learn sooner or later, anyway. But on a day like today, with no weight on her shoulders, Nakoma felt as if she could fly.
The sun was only beginning to descend from its peak in the sky when she slipped into the woods. It wasn't the surest way of finding Pocahontas - for all Nakoma knew, her best friend was with the settlers - but one thing was for sure: Pocahontas wouldn't be in the village unless she had to be.
So the thing about Nakoma is that she's a sideblog. The other thing about Nakoma is that right until this instant I was almost certain I'd deleted her in a fit of rage. The rage, you see, was directed at how many extraneous blogs I had floating around. But I had the sideblog attached to TWO ACCOUNTS and when I deleted her on one, the admin privileges shifted to the second main blog!
But now I have so few blogs floating around that I almost don't know what to do with my time anymore! And I'm beginning to really miss Nakoma. I might even ask DWRP to let her back in, but the important thing I have to do first is make her a main blog. I think that's part of why hardly anybody used to talk to her: she couldn't follow back or send asks w/o them coming from sketchbookpinchedbyababoon.
I have to go take a midterm right now (on the early Stuart dynasty in England, aka ca. 1607 when we sailed the open sea) but when I'm back on I'm going to set up a main blog for Nakoma. I'll keep this blog up, and I'll post a link here when I've made a smooth transition.
